Libertarians are a bit pissed at the r's for trying to file late for the General Election in 2004. Seems that they r's will be five days late, and will be asking the state board of elections for a waiver to file late, and barring that, might try to get the election law changed (don't they have a D-Gov now?). If the Libertarians pulled all their support for r candidates, in solidarity with their IL colleagues, what would that do to the 1600 Crew reelection strategy? Can't help, and doesn't IL count as a "battleground" midwestern state (21 EV)? Annoyed IL libertarians could be the next kingmakers...and the Dems of today, seeking to be r-lite might be overly grateful when the dust has settled.
