Judge Roy Bean Moore

The governor of Alabama is trying to raise some revenue for his state by raising taxes, which you know, makes a little sense to pay for stuff like traffic lights and education and police and firefighters. Minor requirements of life in the universe as we know it.

I have a suggestion, why not put Judge "Pet Rock" Moore on un-paid leave? I'm sure that the savings might buy some school supplies for some school district somewhere in Alabama, and it would be well, fair. After all, I'm pretty sure that the Hairy Thunderer will be happy to pony up for the good Justice's utilities, mortgage, car loans, grocery billl and such right after he's done settling the conflicts in Israel, Northern Ireland, Bosnia, and other places where there is religiously inspired violence. Until then, Judge Pet Rock can talk about himself, a favorite topic:

In a speech in front of the monument last week he mentioned God 12 times and himself 21 times. And now he's been suspended from the Supreme Court, the real question is: anyone want to bet against Roy Moore running for governor of Alabama in the not-too-distant future?
I would not be surprised to see him on the Sunday talkshow circuit repeating his ridiculous assertions to the Fox Faithful, but slowly so that they can understand and look up all the big words he uses in their bibles...

Oh, and how does a two-and-a-half ton stone tablet with the 10 Commandments not count as a Graven Image?

Comments:

Per Orcinus, the crowds folllowing PetRock are all the wacks who think the Civil War ain't over, or think Blacks live in trees.

Fortunately the majority of Alabamans aren't as stupid as he looks. I hope he does run, so he can understand what 'landslide loss' means.

The 11th Commandment: God is not served well by arrogant assholes. Shut up, Roy.

Moore has displayed the ten commandments prominantly in every courtroom he has occupied throught his 11 year career as an elected judge. He ran for Chief Justice of the state supreme court as the "ten commandments" judge. One might go so far as to say (forgive me) he has made the ten commandments the cornerstone of his political career. This recent episode certainly damaged him in the eyes of moderates, but they mostly did not vote for him in the first place. I think it is premature to predict the judge's political demise.

Guess none of you know anything about the Constitution.

Judge Thompson made an injust ruling, he stated that the Ten Commandments violated the "Establishment Clause" of the First Amendment.

The Establishment clause is thus:

"Congress shall pass no law respecting the Establishment of Religion..."

The Alabama Legislature, but more specifically, the Federal Congress did not make a law establishing ANY religion.

Judge Roy Moore was excersizing his right as the Chief Justice to put the Ten Commandments in his State Court House.

The Federal Government intervened Unconstitutionally.

The first Civil War was fought for less than this!

The only thing holding back the guns is the fact that there is hope that this can be solved through awareness...but it is fastly disappating...war is coming and this Union will again be divided in two.

Conservatives versus Liberals.

You will not be able to get away with this again.

It is absolutely against the US Constitution 9th and 10th Amendments for a Federal branch of office to involve itself with intra-state matters!

The fact you idiots don't know anything about the Constitution is the reason they are being able to get away with this.

And a few comments about above posts.

First off, I'm not a Southernor, I'm a Nevadan, and the talk of Secession here is growing as a whisper spreads in school.

Second. I don't think blacks swing in trees...I think blacks that don't listen to "rap-crap" are very upstanding individuals, and I know for a fact even the ones who listen to rap, don't necessarily act like the blacks in rap do, and also are sometimes very upstanding individuals.

Anyone who is in a "gang" and does drugs, is a loser, not just a black person, I am not racist in anyway.

Third, I'm not religious either, I don't care about the Ten Commandments either way, I only care that our Constitution stands as the Supreme law of the land.

And when Thompson ruled that the Constitution supported his thoughts, he just threw it out the window.

He did not have jurisdiction, nor did he have a right to declare that the Constitution supported him.

If he had won the argument saying that the Ten Commandments could be interpreted as offensive to other religions and is being interpreted as such, and therefore should not stand, even though there is a constitutional right that it may, therefore it should be removed.

But he couldn't have won that way.

He had to throw the constitution away.

And lastly, I have a degree in Political Science and know quite a bit more about how the Government is supposed to work, how our Great Republic has evolved since the ratification of the Constitution, and I know more about Law than any of you yokels do.

You may not want the Ten Commandments there, that's fine, that's your opinion you are entitled for it.

But it's not yours or the Judiciaries ability to enforce that.

If you don't watch yourselves you're going to find yourselves having to back your arguments with the gun...as we here in Nevada are prepared to do the same.

No one destroys the Constitution and gets away with it.
