Jessica Lynch is out, got her an Honorable Discharge...
as it should be

Jessica Lynch, y'all remember her right? Well the Army has seen fit to seperate her from Active Duty, effective today or whenever she finishes her terminal leave, if any. Guess that she must have been a 2x6 (two years active, 6 years reserve), or they let her out to pursue "other" things. Last I heard, she wanted to hang with her sweetie, and go to college, which any book deal might help...no student loan debt for her.

Goodwin said Lynch had not signed a book deal with anyone as of today, although Pulitzer Prize-winning author and former New York Times reporter Rick Bragg has been a guest at the Lynch home to do research. The Times has reported Bragg will be paid $1 million to tell Lynch's story.
Good for her.

Now, will someone tell me what's up with the other "survivors" of the same incident, like Shoshana Johnson? Is she out too? Is she getting lots of attention too. No? Guess the SCLM just doesn't find a young African-American Female soldier to be quite the story...

Comments:

I guess Shoshana just wouldn't tug at the heart strings of the uppety white Republicans around the nation. Not like a cute little blond, white girl would. And let's not forget about the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and POW Medal hanging on her wall. I'm glad someone was willing to say what we were all thinking.

Jessica have SUBSTANTIAL injuries and was discharged most likely because she suffered SEVERE trauma and most likely cannot perform in the service any longer. SPC Johnson did not have as severe injuries and stated that she WANTED to remain in the military. No VRWC, NO 'WHITEY' putting her down, No Bush bad/WE good. Take your neo-racists, anti-Amercia crap and stow it! You dishonor all who serve with this drivel. It obvious that you either have never served or were thrown out for your STUPID rantings.
USAF RETIRED (Yes been there, done that)

I, like you, have no problem with Jessica Lynch, in fact I think her and her family have handled all this extremely well, considering all the public pressure I'm sure they feel. I think that if anyone (Junior Bush and Associates) and any group (the mainstream American Media) has hyped this for their own purposes (and I am convinced they have) they deserve all the criticism we can heap on them.

Poor Cyber Sarge, he must assume everyone who has served in the military thinks it and its leaders can do no wrong. My guess is Cyber Sarge never actually served. We have seen this before. Ranting about those of us with eyes and ears and raving about a mostly non-existent military service. Sad and pathetic.

Perhaps SPC Johnson has chosen to remain in the Army. But, if I recall correctly, she suffered two broken ankles. While I'm not a doctor, I'd say that was a severe injury and potentially crippling. Also, I would not think that type of injury is a 2-week leave and return to duty injury. Not even light duty. It still would require physical therapy, crutches and cane for a while. It sure does look funny though, when the three women involved are remembered in varying degrees. First the Native American woman who was killed, seems to be all but forgotten by everyone but her family. Next is Shoshanna, an African-American. Mention her name to random people and they'll draw a blank or think she was on American Idol. And finally, the media's sweetheart, Ms. Lynch. You tell me who is neo-racist. The media and its manipulators, or the people who say we should remember that there was more than one person ambushed that night.

Why is it liberals only care about race when they complain about some perceived racism that doesn't really exist? When liberals finally don something that actually helps minorities, wake me.

Besides having the wrong skin color, Spec Johnson is a single mother - Joan of Arc is supposed to be a virgin, y'know....

MM Grouch, Nice to question my bonafides. Does that make you feel better if you think I have never served? FYI I Joined the USAF on October 13, 1980. I Went to Technical School at Goodfellow AFB Tx. If any of your fellow bloggers can confirm, that is the Intel School. I retired from the Military on December 1 2000. My comments on Private Lynch, SP4 Johnson, and ASSHOLES like you are valid even if I never put on a uniform. NOBODY in the Military thinks in terms of Black, White, Yellow, Male, or Female. Only pinheads that think they have a bone to pick sit in judgement of thosze who serve. Trust me if SP4 Jonhson wanted to leave the Military NOBODY would question her. But she (like all of us) like to serve in a botherhood of professionals that rise far above any crap that spews out of your pie hole. Either join up or shut up!

Lynch is a fake. How does a cook who never brandished her weapon get a Bronze Star for Valor. That is a bunch of crap. Can someone please get that straight for me!

I am so disappointed in the ignorance of some of the comments made. Especially those who have the naive thought that there is no racism in the military. HELLO, look into history. Racism and other forms of discrimination is prominant in society as well as the military. Talk to those people who were discharged due to injuries and see how many were cut short. Lynch suffered several broken bones, Johnson suffered being shot in both legs. BOTH were severely injured and BOTH should receive equal disability rights. It all plays more on Lynch side due to the media hype and the ignorance of some Americans!

Sounds like ol Cyber Sarge really knows the military. cough cough. I too would like to know why Jessica was awarded the star. And where her true honor is at, as she smiles and plays 'miss in love cutie pie', and so modestly rakes in the cash, and recognition. Warrior??? Not so 'stand up', to me. Give credit where credit is due and heck with all the hype, lies and typical military, media, and governmental bull.

The military is full of wrongs, racism, rape, drugs, mis-information, cover-ups, CO induced beatings-blanket parties for the non-conformists. Black market sales of military supplies, mmmm who searches military pilots? mmm I was USAF and seen a ton of crap going on. So that politically correct, blind patriot junk will not fly with me.

Now I suppose Britney Spears and J-Lopez should get a medal of honor because of thier butts. And we the people should should not think for ourselves and ask serious questions about our brave leaders.

There should be a huge public outcry over this, but we are in the New America I guess.

The fact is Jessica Lynch did nothing to warrant all this attention. She is shamelessly milking this fame thing and should be embarrassed about it. What is a five foot nothing, 95 pound girl doing in a combat zone? She couldn't fight off a cold.

AMERICA'S HERO

I'M A SOLDIER TOO.
WAS THE WORDS,
THAT CAME OUT OF HER MOUTH,
THE LITTLE GIRL,
WITH EYES OF HEAVENLY BLUE

JUST A KID HERSELF,
DOING A JOB OF A MAN,
RISE UP AMERICA,
AND GIVE THIS GIRL A HAND.

HER BROKEN BONES WILL HEAL,
BUT HER BROKEN HEART WILL REMAIN,
HER BEST FRIEND DIED BY HER SIDE,
IN HER HEART SHE WILL ALWAYS HAVE PAIN,

SHE DIDNT CLAIM TO BE A HERO,
BUT TO ME SHE WILL ALWAYS BE ,
SHE WAS DOING THE JOB OF A MAN,
AND THAT'S A HERO TO ME.

IT'S TIME TO LET HER LIVE HER LIFE,
AND ENJOY HER WEDDING DAY,
BUT DON'T FORGET TO SALUTE THE FLAG,
AND REMEMBER JESSICA LYNCH ON VETERANS DAY.

Yes, Jessica Lynch earned the purple heart she received; she was wounded by the enemy in a combat zone.

Her bronze star, though, is a farce. If she had actually fought off the Iraqis as originally alleged, she would have earned it, or possibly a silver star; however, that story has been determined to be a farce.

The nature of her injuries dictated whether she should remain on active duty, be medically discharged, or medically retired. I'm sure, though, that politics came into play here, just as it did with the award of the bronze star. Her personal desires about remaining on active duty probably were also taken into consideration, especially if the decision had been close.

I agree with you. After serving for over twenty years in a mostly caucasian military specialy, I have experienced first hand all the nigger jokes, puns and comments where race mattered to the person speaking. So don't be fooled when you're told to "quit playing the race card." the Translation is "shut up and take the injustice with a smile." To those with eyes and ears remember; another group of people have been playing the race card since before 1776. United we stand???????????
