Emmy Awards. Tonight? Guess so. Found the results on Yahoo. Who Cares? But I have to wonder about two things: When did they come out with a category for Reality Shows and how in the hell does another awards show get to be an Emmy-worthy nominee, much less a winner (Tony Awards).
I guess that all the awards show are pretty much a self-fulfilling trivialization and self-parody. I just never realized how bad it's gotten.
We now return to meaningful (?) blogging, and your regularly scheduled rantings.

The reality show category was just introduced this year; let's hope it's abandoned in fairly short order. Other awards telecasts has always been eligible in the "variety" category, and I believe the Oscar telecast has won a few times. I'm glad the Tony-cast got it this past year, I thought that was a fairly well-directed show.
Well, so long as the Emmy for Best Reality Show always goes to Amazing Race (i.e. the only reality show that actually enriches the human spirit rather than degrading it), I won't mind so much.
