Rush'n Odds

Anyone know if there is a line in Vegas on Rush and Recidivism? I mean they'll bet on anything, right? So what are the odds he stays clean and sober...two previous failures, a tough drug to kick...could be a money-maker. I guess maybe they don't take the bets that are a sure thing against the house.

Even money he's in rehab again within one year.

Jo,

The odds are 53% against for a full year clean with over 30 days in rehab. 80% against for those who do not actively pursue a 12 Step program. No data available on those with a 285 million dollar contract at stake 8^)
He would have to be a serious idiot to fail with that kind of money and influence on the line. Disney/ABC/Clear Channel should have a full time force of enforcers keeping him clean (not to mention the Secret Service and the FBI who will ship any suppliers to Rush off to Gitmo never to be heard from again.)
If Florida does the right thing and pursues a criminal indictment and he does the mandatory 2.6 years for his admitted crime he may stay clean for the 2.6 but he will lose his contract and his influence and that would not bode well for after his release.
Does anybody know if the DA in Florida is a Democrat? It would be cool if Jeb or George had to "pardon" Rush.

The house wouldn't be betting for or against Rush. They would likely just treat it like poker. They don't care what the outcome is, they just take their 10% of the pot. The problem is that the odds would reflect the betting (like horse racing), and who would put money down that he *would* stay clean.

I guess there are legions of dittoheads...are they really *that* stupid, though?

Florida won't bother. First offenders have the option of diversion. If you have the money and attend an approved rehab program your record is wiped, not even the arrest happened.

Of course, since the record is wiped, you are always a first offender.

Poor people go to jail, rich people go to spas.
