Blames Everyone...

But himself. In what has to be the most disgusting statement (and there's lots to chose from), President AWOL 1st LT blames the crew of the USS Lincoln for "Mission Accomplished". That's right, the men and women of the Carrier are responsible for that statement and all the attendant misfortunes according to The Chimp.

The "Mission Accomplished" sign, of course, was put up by the members of the USS Abraham Lincoln, saying that their mission was accomplished. I know it was attributed some how to some ingenious advance man from my staff -- they weren't that ingenious, by the way. But my statement was a clear statement, basically recognizing that this phase of the war for Iraq was over and there was a lot of dangerous work.
And another bald-faced lie:
Remember, the action in Iraq was -- to get rid of Saddam Hussein was widely supported by the Iraqi people.
All this is from the "news" conference, where he showed once again that he's a petulant, narrow-minded, semi-intelligent little shit who needs to be unemployed, or at least ruining something less valuable than our Democracy.

W's spinning of "Mission Accomplished" on the aircraft carrier at his press conference: "Mission Accomplished"?

Well, let's be very precise here. Let's pretend we're Fascists - err, I mean Republicans, of course. You know, word-weasels. The guys who oh so very carefully parse each and every word once they've been caught lying - err, I mean misspeaking, err, I mean not being correctly understood when they say something.

The WH *ordered* that banner from a private vendor, at this point in time name unknown, although I'm sure that will come out.

The WH *transported* that banner to the USS Lincoln prior to Commander Codpiece's victory lap in San Diego Bay.

But, in fact, the WH did NOT put up that banner.

That's right, Ladies and Gentlemen, when you accuse Our Great Warrior Leader(tm) of misprepresenting the facts, you are WRONG - ONCE AGAIN!!!

That banner was, in fact, actually "put up" by the crew of the Lincoln.

Some flack got off the helocopter, went to the Captain of the Lincoln and said, "Here, boy, have this put up immediately, if you want to ever get another promotion," or words to that effect. And the Captain of the Lincoln called a Master Chief and said, "Chief, get six deck apes to hang this sign before Commander Fuckwit gets here or we'll never get liberty at San Diego."

So, you see, my brethren and sistern, once again the WH has spoken the truth and all the objectively pro-Saddam commie pinko fags of the librul media have slandered this good, pure, installed-by-God hero.

I burn everytime I see The Weasel on that carrier deck. I wore a Navy flight suit for too many years (over 3000 hours in P3s) to see that jerk make a prop out of it.

The lies are calculated and effective. That's the bad news. The good news is that people are challenging those lies, and getting the word out. The rest is up to us. Here's a good editorial to use when dealing with the still clueless:
It's a 'reminder' to G.Bush: It's A War, Stupid!

I'm a Navy veteran and I can attest that what Lurch posted above is accurate. I'm sure the WH apparatchiks did tell the Captain to hang the banner and the order then trickled rapidly down the chain of command such that a couple of junior enlisted personnel--already smarting from the news that their return home would be delayed so a sleazy politician could have a photo-op at taxpayer expense--attached said banner to the railing.

If our Deserter-In-Chief had bothered to stick around for the duration of his TANG obligation, perhaps he might have learned that responsibility for an order ultimately rests with the senior person who issues it, not the junior personnel who carry it out.

Hey Jo:
Easy on that "AWOL 1LT" thing; there's alot of us ol' 1LTs out here who don't want to be mentioned in the same paragraph (much less the same sentence) with 43.
It's clear that his rather privileged view of the military -- apparently NG unit was known as the "Champagne Brigade" because of all the well-connected people who were in it during the late - 60's/early - 70's -- reinforced his own sense that for him there are no consequences.
And so 1LT Buck Passer became President Buck Passer, and we've all been living with the depressing results of that ever since January 20, 2001 -- "Bring 'em on!!" being the classic example of his thoughtless dropping of the proverbial dime on someone else. After all, no one is going to suit him up in body armor and stick him in Tikrit are they?
And now blaming the crew of the Lincoln for something so obviously staged by his handlers -- how typical and how pathetic.
And how's this for a coinky-dink: the guy in the White House who's in charge of staging all the theatrics for Dear Buck Passer (such as the "Mission Accomplished" banner) just happens to be overseas and "unavailable for comment". My my my, what a surprise.
