Be Careful Out There

It's the Officially Designated night for kids to collect Sugary Stuff here in this part of Ohio. If it is where you are too, keep an eye out for the little ones...drive safely and have fun.

Remember, nothing is scarier than what's in the White House right now (he was in Columbus today Trick or Treating for Cash). More later, gotta go give out some candy...

You remind me of an incident that happened back when the Navy sent me to the Washington Navy Yard to slave at the Navy-Marine Corps Appellate Defense Activity for a year in 1984-84, while Reagan was President. I took a day of leave one day, and my then-wife, daughter and I mucked about D.C. doing touristy things. We found ourselves on Pennsylvania Ave., and as we were passing The White House my daughter (aged about 3.5 at the time), pointed at the W.H. and told my wife and I in a somber tone: "Mommy, Daddy... a monster lives in that house."

My wife and I, who both hated Reagan with religious fervor, laughed our butts off for most of the rest of the afternoon.

Halloween is condemned as a Satanic event down here on the "Redneck Riviera" [Florida Panhandle], so I will again be forced to find someone to take candy off my hands. Not one child stopped by.
