Ah, the rays of Sunshine

Yesterdays post about SGT Pogany, the man accused of cowardice by the Army has changed...the Army has dropped the Cowardice charges against the Sargeant, opting instead to perhaps charge him with Dereliction of Duty, a much less grave offense. If the Sargeant even goes to an Article 15 hearing (otherwise known as Non-Judicial Punishment), I would be really surprised...do the words "arbitrary and capricious" mean anything (well they do...) to you?

I guess that the silly macho knuckleheads came to their senses, and realized how stupid they looked and made the Army look as well over what seems to be Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, a medical issue. Some idiot should get fired over this...what a debacle. Glad for the Sargeant though, he sure was getting the shaft from someone...

Poor guy. This is an extreme case, but it is typical military behavior to punish members who come forward for help. As I mentioned on another blog, I have seen people get reamed for asking for help with all sorts of problems including alcoholism and financial difficulties. It's bullshit.

If anyone is a coward, it's the jerk(s) who decided on the cowardice charges in the first place, and let's not forget our oh-so-mahvellous "commander-in-chief" who deftly avoided Vietnam by flying drunken patrols over the Gulf of Mexico, keeping Texas safe from marauding... fish.

I'm glad to see the Army has taken a step back after either rethinking the situation, or (more likely in this ever-more-politicized-Army), having been told that the latest Rove focus group was appalled by this vicious tactic to encourage the troops. [Solution: only draw focus groups from Freepers and other Fascists. Then you get the results you want. It's rather the same method employed in obtaining "intelligence" about Saddam Hussein before our effort at Corporate Imperialism. If you can't get the answeres youw ant, fire the answerers and get new ones.

Dictatorships never change; they're all invariably the same.

I don't care what y'all say, I think that sad bastard should be strung up on a flagpole. So he saw a guy get cut in half! The president once HAD HIS VERY AIRWAY BY WHICH HE LIVES THREATENED BY A DASTARDLY PRETZEL! How dare his warboner be smaller than Lt. George W. Bush's? He should be charged with cowardice, bad hygiene, and tinypenisitis and fry! 'murrka!
