WTF?

The story of the two GI's killed in Iraq (Mosul?) just disappeared off the websites of every US paper almost simultaneously. Or am I just delusional? Finding them through another link is not hard, but it seems strange that page One news would all of a sudden be buried...or not.

I guess the "Hearts and Minds" campaign is succeeding beyond all hopes. My sympathies go out to the families of those who lost their lives for the 1600 Crew today and in all days past this year.

More when (if) it becomes available.

Jo, about the only thing that can be agree upon in that incident in Mosul is that two soldiers from the 101st died.

NPR had an interview with a reporter [LA Times?] in Mosul and he couldn't get a straight story from anyone. The locals have several stories and, of course, the military doesn't agree with any of them.

The reporter said that he had been going to Mosul for some time and this is the first time he has felt a real hatred toward Americans, himself included.

The initial story was that the two were shot while in slow moving traffic in an industrial area. They crashed and were drug from the vehicle by locals, stoned, and robbed.
