It's heeere!

and it's not going away anytime soon...

Ron Hutcheson of Knight Ridder writes that "President Bush's performance as commander-in-chief was supposed to be his strong suit in the November election, but questions about his leadership suddenly have forced him on the defensive."

NBC Nightly News devoted a two and a half minute "In-Depth" segment to the issue, in which David Gregory said that while Bush was "never formally accused" of anything, "there is no record that proves Bush showed up to fulfill his obligations" from May 1972 to May 1973. The report includes video from 2000 of Bush saying "I fulfilled my obligation."

And on CBS, Mark Strassman also got two and a half minutes, reporting that "Lt. Bush's records are sketchy, but suggest spotty attendance, and calling the furor "a clear warning shot on the debate to come on national security." He showed video of veterans campaigning for war hero John Kerry.

This has gotten more ink than it ever did during the 2000 campaign, it's wonderful how somehow starting an unprovoked military adventure, having a "Commander Codpiece" moment and a world-wide reputation as the Crawford Village Idiot can focus that attention like a laser beam isn't it?

It seems to prove the theorem about the press being pack animals too ...

Comments:

The blood is in the water, the poll numbers are slipping, the investigations continue.

The corporations are looking at the real possibility that Fearful Leader will not be controlling their fate for another four years and they want to cover their bets.

They have to know that regulations will come with a Democratic administration and they will need friends as sources and as access for favors.

Thanks to AwolBush.com as well. They have been trying to keep this story alive since 2000. Peter Jennings is such a Buffoon, you really have to wonder how he gets through a broadcast. I am gratefull for his buffoonery on this issue. If he had not mangled up the Clark questioning while showing his ignorance of the issues, the rest of the journalists may not have gotten interested. I wonder if PJ has a reputation of being an idiot in journalism circles. I discovered peter was a fool during the O.J. Bronco ride scandal when a Howard Stern fan got a live interview with PJ and kept him going for several minutes acting like an Amos & Andy black man that lived in Brentwood. It was so comical, you could tell that Peter was being put on the instant the fake opened his mouth. Poor Peter had no clue and kept on going until one of his associates felt sorry for him and pulled the plug.

Go check Calpundit.

It looks like Bush got shipped to the inactive Reserve after failing to take his flight physical.
