Fleeing at dawn, a la Ferdy Marcos (I happened to be TAD at Clark AB when he looted the PX and left the country), former catholic priest Jean-Bertrand Aristide has left the building. The government there is now transitioning to their constitutionaly-appointed sucessor, the head of their supreme court, who by all accounts is a stand-up guy. Good for the Haitians, they defeated a fool...Aristide was given the chance to rebuild his country and pissed it away. Now here's the interesting note:
Three U.S. Coast Guard cutters were stationed just offshore throughout the day, apparently to head off any exodus by sea of those fleeing the violence.
Yeah, better to let them hang around and get murdered, after all, they're only Haitians, right Preznit-oh,you-have-black-people-too? Or to enforce the 1600 Crew immigration reform act...no Haitians allowed, unless they can pay to play. The Coast Guard now works for Tom Ridge, who probably actually reports to Snake-Handler Johnny, who says with a grin as he wipes off his chin "If we know it's from Haiti, then fuck it".
Which of course makes JEB! happy as hell, since he can look like a 'compassionate conservative' and keep'em out of Florida.

Perhaps a little research into how the IMF & WTO tied Aristide's hands and prevented him from helping the poor in Haiti, is in order. You know the story.

Time to be humanitarian, and put those FEMA camps to use, as an excuse to fund them billions more and upgrade them... what a final solution!
