Back....

Well, I went west to the land of the wide-open spaces, where the men are men and the sheep are nervous. I was sort of hoping that Preznit Worse'n Nixon might have retreated to his bunker in Crawford with a bottle of Wild Turkey and a cee-gar. Guess Unka Karl and Unka Crashcart would not let him go...but, on the bright side, there's Richard Clarke, who could be this generation's John Dean...he knew what the Chimp knew and apparently when he knew it.

President Bush's intense efforts to neutralize the revelations of former national security official Richard A. Clarke have yet to succeed, leaving White House officials struggling to regain political momentum after a tumultuous week, according to interviews with Republicans both inside and outside .
...
...Beginning with interviews in connection with his new book and continuing with Capitol Hill testimony, Clarke said he had watched Bush repeatedly ignore warnings about al Qaeda before Sept. 11, 2001, then diverted resources from the broader war on terrorism for an attack on Iraq.
...
Polling has shown that the Clarke's assertions have resonated as more than mere Beltway sniping and that voters are beginning to question the president's handling of terrorism.
He he he....no wonder the Duchess of Dupont took a week of her contributor's loot and headed off..she must have been looking for a kool-aid cure.

It's nice to see that non-stick coating of shit is finally starting to get a spot of tarnish on it...well little spots turn into big ones. Has someone outside of Left Blogistan finally figured out that [gasp] there migh be previaricators in the 1600 Crew?

Looks like I picked a good week to quit vacationing.

W and his minions had since late December to review Clarke's manuscript. This should have afforded them with taxpayer funds at their disposal more than ample opportunity to line up documents that might refute Clarke's charges. Can you imagine the number of copies of Clarke's manuscript that were made and the number of hours expended, at taxpayer expense, to try to come up with gotchas? I wonder if they found any documents that would defend them. Perhaps they found some that would hurt them that Clarke might know about. Get those shredders going.

Regarding those nervous sheep, perhaps the Duchess was out west the same time you were? He might know how to make a ewe-turn.

Welcome back, Jo.

Seems that the Deserter in Thief is *personally* directing this counterattack against Richard Clarke. It's not working. Even the SCLM is commenting that the Senate DeLay lapdog Frist is trying to declassify only certain parts of Clarke's testimony before the Senate. Guess it helps to pull out only the *portions* of the sentences that support the Deserter in Thief's position.

Guess the disjointed nature of sentences pulled out of context and placed together will sound like an episode of "Survivor" for the rubes.

Sheesh.

Ten bucks Sully comes back "married," claims it is the first gay wedding in history--first "real" gay wedding, that is...no, that he is simply "more" married than those 70s-style san fran homo stereotypes...no...wait....no....wait...

oh, and he will still be a "classic" pre-post-neo-retro-republicratitarian-polymorphously perverse weenie hack clueless idiot.

Glad to have you back Jo.

As for Sully, he is probably back in the British Isles because of this.

Now, dj, come on.....

Can you think of anyone of sound mind who would willingly get involved with this mutt?

His body may be buff, but the mind?
