Hey, If Chuck Colson vouches for him, he's gotta be honest

I know that the guy, O'Neill or whatever, that the republicans have trotted out to say that John Kerry was a no-goodnik is in fact correct. See, I was attached to VA-46 10 years after John McCain was caught on film running away from a burning A-4D on the flight deck of the USS Forrestal. My service in the same squadron, and second-hand knowledge of then-LT McCains other actions on that day indisputably prove that he was obviously unfit for anything and certainly was never, ever in his career any kind of a "Hero". Damn Naval Academy graduating people like him anyway.

See, there's my rock-solid logic. Please, feel free to try your best to tear it apart.

Hey, I saw that movie twice. The USS Forestfire, we called it. That was John McCain running away? I guess Chicken George was right to smear him then.

What does McCain have to do with Kerry? The fact that then Lt. McCain was caught on a moment of film running away from a certain death does not mean anything. What he did AFTER the camera stopped filming him is what does matter. Were you there? Do you know? I'm sure that 10 years after the fire it is easy for you to judge McCain's actions because the 'second-hand' information came directly from the most trustworthy of sources.

Don't look now, but I think that you have just stepped over the line to the right of center.

Carson:

Does the term "sarcasm" ring a bell?

Yes I understand sarcasm. The problem is that an idiot will pick a byte from this, publish it somewhere else and suddenly it has gotten a life of its own. Passed from place to place, changed a little each permutation until it becomes a story in its won right.

I'm sure that is how we got to this point, on night in the frat house little GW says that he is going to be president one day. No one beleives him of course, the joke makes its way around all the republican dives until one day 'Professor Higgins' tells his friends that of course I can make anyone presiodent, even GW. So it goes, woe to us.

GW is an asshole

O'Neill is still upset about the whipping he took when he debated Kerry in 1971 on the Dick Cavett show. CSPAN re-ran the tape a couple of weeks ago.

O'Neill is a USN Academy grad who only did one one tour. That doesn't show much dedication.

The small boats on the rivers was madness. I flew over it and there was no way to tell who was who or what was what. There were a lot of "friendly fire" problems, "collateral damage" problems, and casualties.

Frankly, anyone who came out of that period without a Purple Heart should buy lottery tickets, because they have a huge excess of luck.

So O'Neill received an education at the Naval Academy at taxpayer expense, then served the minimum period of time in the Navy, became an attorney making big bucks in a Texas law firm. Wasn't that shrewd of him? Now, he works "pro bono" for George W based presumably upon principle, or based upon his background, is it really "pro bono" or for principal?
