A disgrace? Get a mirror

It's hard to believe, but I long ago promised I'd not be amazed at anything the 1600 Crew did or said. Sorry, I was wrong. How can anyone actually believe that a man who managed to disgrace his own military service could say this:

President Bush said Thursday he felt "disgraced" by the images of U.S. soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners but reminded West Virginia voters that the actions of a handful of Americans should not sully the nation's military.
...
"I want to say one other thing about our troops," Bush said. "Like you, I have been disgraced ... by what I've seen on TV, what took place in the prison. But the actions of a few do not reflect on the fantastic character of the over 200,000 men and women who have served our nation" in Iraq.
No, you dumb-ass, you managed to disgrace yourself when you broke the oath you took upon accepting a place in the TANG and again when you became an officer.

If those enlisted folks are a "disgrace" then what's Rumsfeld and what about the rest of the Pentagon-based cilivilian keyboard commandos?

Ah, I am always forgetting, it's the era of personal responsibility...someone elses...nothing but luv for ya! mean it! kiss kiss!!!

Asshat.

Comments:

I have long maintained that this is the "ZERO RESPONSIBILITY PARTY". They absolutely don't take the blame for anything. It's always someone else's fault.

It's Joseph Wilson's fault that Valerie Plame was outed.

It's the CIA's fault that the Bush Administration cherry picked intelligence for Iraq.

It's Bill Clinton's fault that the economy stinks and 9/11 happened.

It's the enlisted people's fault that prisoners were tortured at the Iraqi Prison.

ZERO RESPONSIBILITY

Bush Jr. has apparently convinced Rummy not to read the news (source: his "town meeting talk with the troops in Iraq yesterday). What if this gets contagious and infects the rest of Bush Jr.'s cabinet? Then who will screen the news to provide Bush Jr. and his cabinet with information, the termites? Quick, let's get Terminix and John Kerry to the rescue.

Shhhhh, no termites, Rove and Delay took care of 'em.

Like father like son, one TERM-ite and you're done...

Those people did not act on their own in that prison. No way. Pfc England made statements to that effect, but was vague about them and not much was made of it after the initial reports, probably because her lawyer told her to shut up now that she had planted the seed. There is already evidence that, at the very least, misleading orders came from above as to how to conduct themselves. Plus, it seems the interrogators were in charge of that prison semi-officially. The funny business will be revealed eventually because too many people were involved and too many underlings are targeted to take the fall for them to all keep quiet and bend over and take it like a man. So the facts will come out, to be sifted from the nonsense. But I never got on those privates' cases because I think they had orders to do those things. What they did was wrong, and orders do not absolve you from blame, but they aren't, I think, the horrible, evil people they are made out to be. They were tfools.

I was pretty shocked when I heard that Emporer C-plus Augustus said that. I thought that he'd probably mis-spoke, like he usually does, meaning to say "digusted". But the followup made it pretty clear he meant what he said.

I was amazed at the leaps of lack-of-logic when he said that he "felt disgraced" but that it did not reflect on the US or its troops.

Hey Numbnuts - if it disgraced you, it reflected on you!

But then, I doubt he has any sense of what it means to be disgraced.

I heard today that he was turned down by the University of Texas. Yale had to take him because he's a legacy. Now there's a legacy for you.

But then, Yale is the home of deconstruction. I've always regarded that as evidence of degeneracy.
