Snark not available here

Of course I would not want to make fun of family-values republican candidate Jack Ryan of Illinois, who is unintentionally aiding the destruction of the Illinois Republican party. The republican machine, as factually-challenged as it is, still supports wealthy Jack ...

Publicly, Republicans expressed support for Ryan.

"Our Republican candidate is outstanding," said Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee. "I have had him in Nashville to meet my supporters. I have campaigned with him in Chicago and will continue to support him.

Jack Ryan? Righteously rich, but I would give his troubles about oh, a 7 of 9.

The best "7 of 9" reference yet. Good going!

I posted on it as "How to simultaneously lose the straightlaced and the libertine votes at once" - the geek vote (which we had one documented case of Republican fanboy vote switch already because of this at dKos) is overall very blase about the idea of sex clubs and BDSM - hey whatever floats your boat - but not at all cool with coercion, let alone treating Seven of Nine badly - the ingrate retard!

And of course his target constituency, Mr. & Mrs. J. Smoe from Smalltown, Illinois, is not happy about the idea of public sex in sex clubs At All. Stack this on top of his photostalking incident, and as Gillard puts it, the choice "pervert or negro" is looking easier and easier for Peoria. That stuff doesn't play well at all there, no matter what mores are in force - unless you're one of the "droit de seigneur/privileged class" types.

The Party is, in fact, looking more and more out of touch with Middle-American values, of all sorts, frontier-libertine or main street bourgeoisie.

(gloating? us?)

Bill Frist looks at his photo of Jack Ryan and all he sees are little tabby kittens.

Sure, Bill has had him in Nashville to meet his supporters, but would he leave him alone in a room with either his wife or daughter?

I'm laughing at the hypocrisy, but deep down I can't blame him. If I were married to Jeri Ryan, I'd want everyone to see everything.

So let's see ... we've got DeLay on charges, Rowlands resigning, Bill Bennett gambling, Rush doing drugs, Ah-nold groping, and Bush basically lying his ass off.

It's a bad year for the Grand Old Pharisees.

"It's a bad year for the Grand Old Pharisees."

Stick around. I have a feeling it's going to get much worse. God help me, I'm having schaedenfreude out the wazoo right now. Don't worry, it's sounds a lot more painful than it is...

Hey, Frist! Why don't you invite Ryan to some fundraisers in New Orleans? I'm sure he's "in" with the "fun" crowd there, it should make for an interesting time all around.

What we're seeing is a summer of "give them enough rope". Amazing.

Frist went on to say, at the fundraiser that "Ryan was the new face of the Republican Party".

Bush born on third, thinks he hit a triple. Ryan is free swinging his way to a 7 of 9 streak and strikes out in crunch time.

Any sport requiring balls the Republiclowns are burdened with self-imposed low expectations.

Which star trek phrase will end this post?
It's highly Illogical?

She can't do it captain! It's all the power she's got!
