The Donald

Well in the world o'strange, this has to be one of the stranger things I've seen in a while. The Donald has little regard for Preznit No Accountability. In fact, The Donald says he'd fire him...will he put his not-inconsiderable bank account where his mouth is?

"Look at the war in Iraq and the mess that we're in. I would never have handled it that way. Does anybody really believe that Iraq is going to be a wonderful democracy where people are going to run down to the voting box and gently put in their ballot and the winner is happily going to step up to lead the country?," Trump said.

"C'mon. Two minutes after we leave, there's going to be a revolution, and the meanest, toughest, smartest, most vicious guy will take over. And he'll have weapons of mass destruction, which Saddam didn't have," Trump said in excerpts of the interview released in advance to Reuters.
...
What was the purpose of the whole thing? Hundreds and hundreds of young people killed. And what about the people coming back with no arms and no legs? Not to mention the other side. All those Iraqi kids who've been blown to pieces. And it turns out that all of the reasons for the war were blatantly wrong. All this for nothing!," Trump said.
...
"Bin Laden would have been caught long ago. Tell me, how is it possible that we can't find a guy who's six-foot-six and supposedly needs a dialysis machine? Can you explain that one to me? We have all our energies focused on one place, where they shouldn't be focused," he said.

Mr. Trump, we've been asking that since Sept 12, 2001. Unfortunately, the 1600 Crew declines to answer on the grounds it might cost them the election...let's make sure it does.

Wow. Mr. Bad Hairpiece has a conscious. Who would have known?

I was surprised to see a mention of the soldiers who aren't being killed but maimed; that angle of the war hasn't gotten a whole lot of media attention. I imagine those soldiers need all the help they can get--they certainly aren't getting any from Mr. Budget-cut Bush.

Trump is a New Yorker and Bush doesn't have many friends in NYC. The City has been stiffed and Trump has been losing money through higher insurance premiums and a lower occupancy rate. They are no safer since 9-11 and they are about to have their lives screwed over by the Repub convention.

NYC gets more and better coverage of the news and there have been articles about returning workers from the Guard and Reserve in business mags.

I'm not saying that Trump isn't personally upset by the disabilities, but he probably has more exposure than most people to that reality. The SCLM has pretty much been silent on the issue.

Strong words from yet another speculative venture businessman. Buffet, Soros, Trump...

Mentioning the wounded is called for. Guess the Don went to see F911.

The uberrich don't even like the guy.

Bad chimp. No bananna. Do not pass go, do not collect 200 million war chest. No Boardwalk welcome. Bush media monopoly is being unveiled.

Never mind Trump- he's a Rich elitist. besides he was part of the USFL. And his reality show has better talent than the entire Bush cabinet, and better approval ratings.

It's all about the hair. Edwards has won Trump over... after the DNC rally, when the Plame trial gets revved up, and the energy task force, and Lay trial gets cooking:

My understanding is that Trump has always sided with the Democrats. New York, despite recent years, has always been a Democratic town. LaGuardia, Koch, Dinkins. Dinkins was the one who really turned people against the Dems and gave New Yorkers Giuliani. Dinkins was not good at all. But when you look at the governor's race in New York state, they always talk about the upstate Republicans versus the downstate and NYC Democrats.

Don't knock Trump too hard. He may not be the most faithful husband, but he seems to me to actually be a good guy. Asked if he fires people like he did on The Apprentice, Trump said no, not at all. Usually he tries to be as kind as possible, thanks them for their service, and treats them with dignity and respect.

Anyway, I like Trump. When I still liked Atlantic City, which I stopped doing after I went to Vegas and saw what great fun you could have in a casino town without gambling, the Taj Mahal was my favorite casino. It is the tackiest, glitziest, most ridiculous casino I have ever seen. I loved its unabashed tackiness.

Oh, and that's his real hair. I've seen him yanking on it in an interview and the interviewer examined it. It isn't a bad hairpiece, it's bad hair management.
