Well Said

Al Gore tonight:

Al Gore said tonight, "I prefer to focus on the future because I know from my own experience that America is a land of opportunity, where every little boy and girl has a chance to grow up and win the popular vote."
Yeah.

I liked the "Take it from me, every vote counts" theme.

Yeah from a tobacco magnate's mouth comes wisdom.

There's a reason they dropped the ball. Don't let the smooth talk fool us. He was the Senate President and let the vote counts go unchallenged.

Got about as much for Gore as I had for Tipper at this point. Retire to the fucking country club/speaking circuit.

And take Lie-berman with you.

If he had true moxie this shitcan of distortions and manipulation and the moral good standing of our nation flushed away would not be current reality.

Jimmy Carter's speech was the words of clarity and integrity. That speech was emotional. The cutaways to crowd cheering was ridiculous, you could see the man weigh those words and for him to speak in such tones and with such severity was truly a defining moment.

Every sentence he made deserved an ovation. He is right we have lost our spiritual and moral focus and without that we are making our armed forces' efforts vain.

Gore is vanity in comparison.

But it takes an even more special boy to get elected President 5-4 by SCROTUS. (The R is for the Rehnquist faction.)

Don't murder Gore, Murder. His speeches have been exceptional this year. Did he blow it by not fighting hard enough in 2000? You bet. But I have a good opinion of him. He is a decent man and I think he got screwed and, unfortunately, neither he nor his advisors were quick enough on their feet to stop it. Yes, we are paying the price, but I don'thave enough anger to go that far around. I prefer to stay focused on the real problem. The Connecticut Chimpanzee in America's Oval Office.

Yeah Dean and Gore is pretty good hearted guy. He didn't push for massive tax cuts (and he would benefit most from them).

He had pretty good priorities. It seems his entire free speech thing was posturing over music more than anything. His wife was vocal because he knew such efforts to strike down would never pass a SCOTUS review.

And instead of dsicouraging such speech thru business it actually increased sales.

But it kind of sets precedents that Dixie Chicks faced, and strangely profited from as well. It's like being put on the bad list at school, a fonzie-effect...

I'd rather have magnates like Gore Theresa who are good hearted philanthropists calling our shots for sure.
