Split?

Does this mean bye-bye Crashcart? Either the 1600 Crew has decided that the whole gay-marriage thing is a non-starter and is willing to kiss off the issue, despite losing their Christo-Fascist base or Crashcart is going to bow out from the ticket as a September Surprise at the convention.

Vice President Cheney on Tuesday spelled out his differences with President Bush on the volatile issue of same-sex marriage while for the first time discussing the sexual orientation of his gay daughter in a public setting.

Asked his position on the subject at a town hall meeting in Davenport, Iowa, Cheney replied: "Lynne and I have a gay daughter, so it's an issue that our family is very familiar with. . . . With respect to the question of relationships, my general view is that freedom means freedom for everyone. People ought to be able to free -- ought to be free to enter into any kind of relationship they want to."
...
The Family Research Council, a conservative group with close White House ties, called Cheney's remarks disappointing. "Unfortunately, protection of our values is made more difficult when mixed messages emanate from the White House," said Tony Perkins, the group's president.

The FRC, now there's whole group of fair-minded hate-mongers extraordinare...such a temperate bunch, I'm sure they'd never have a problem with getting Dick.

The Duchess is probably having a 24-hour whack-a-thon over this "new" Dick position.

Maybe RoboHeart figures his work is done and he needs to get back to the helm of USS Theft in private industry.

This "new" Dick position is so that he can be in a position to satisfy Lynne or she will give Dick a permanent deferment.

Cheney will bow out and McCain will step in. Then, after all the shit hits the fan in 2005, Bush will be forced to resign, McCain becomes the President.

So Sayth Rook.

You miss the genius of this move.

This is "We are not too far to the right" week at the White House. Cheney shows they are compassionate, Dumbya shows they are conservative. Everybody's happy.

See?

This morning on 'Good Morning America', they played the clip from 2000, wherein Lynne Cheney, famous writer of soft-core, lesbian-themed fiction, pitched a hissy fit when Cokie Roberts mentioned her gay daughter. Since I don't think either Cheney has a heart in the traditional sense (that is cut out of you upon initiation into the Repug Party), this has got to be one cool, calculated move to reduce Swiftie coverage now that the lying cat is out of the bag.

It's a calculated move, as Ralph and Bill have noted. Besdies, the repugs have gotten much of what they want out of the issue, as quite a number of states have anti-same sex marriage amendments on their state ballots. The purpose is to draw more conservatives to the polls, as Missouri proved a few weeks ago. Cheney is just faking to the middle on this one, and using his daughter to do it. Too bad she doesn't have any self-respect.

McCain has no choice but to follow Bush. The AZ State retirement fund was robbed of much funds by the Halliburton umbrella of investments of Dresser-Rand and Dresser pump and Ingersoll-Rand. Condie Rice has ties to the Rands, is still a boardmember of Exxon as well. McCain allowed the AZ Baptist fraud to go down in his house while Ashcroft was in the state. His integrity went where his efforts did to fight Bushco theft of his state's workers retirement. Into Bushco's back pocket...

Jail time is going to be nice to the lady who called Willie Brown and told him not fly on 9-10. Who could have imagined?
