It was the drugs, it was the drugs

The 1600 Crew is going to have to look into taking away Mrs. Vehicular Homicide's happy pills for the next couple of months. Asked about the Brown Water Ratfinks, Hump-A-Lump said:

Do you think these swift-boat ads are unfair to John Kerry?

BUSH
Do I think they're unfair? Not really. There have been millions of terrible ads against my husband.

Those millions of ads are currently running in the land of enormous spiders and orange elephants. Please for the children, don't let her near "Dark Side of the Moon"... it's for the children, I plead.

Some type of pharmaceuticals has to be the explanation for such a bald-faced assertion by such a non-entity about a man who has won the nations third-highest medal for bravery in combat. While her pathetic husband was probably drunk and being abusive towards New Haven Police officers.

Thanks for the Silver Star reference. It is incredibly frustrating, even in non-Kerry scenarios, to see the strange fixation by the press on the "awarding" of a Purple Heart. You get wounded in combat you deserve some recognition. Hell if you serve overseas in a time of combat you deserve some recognition even if you never saw shot or shell. And you do.

But the lack of understanding of the difference between campaign ribbons on one end, Combat Infantryman Badges and Purple Hearts in the middle, and medals for gallantry at the top end troubles, yet doesn't surprise me. Yet I think it will backfire on BushCo.

The Chickenhawks may never get it, never having experienced military service, but there are generations of veterans out there who make the equation "Silver Star? Oh man!"

What, if anything at all, is there to W's wearing of two ribbons in a photo used in a previous campaign? There is some evidence that he may not have been awarded those medals. As a fellow demnavyvet, I am surprised that this didn't develop "legs".

Laura doesn't seem to get that there's a big difference between valid criticism (as the ads against Bush have shown) and flat out lies which is what the Swift Boat ads are. Grrrr....
