I noticed today that my sitemeter counter had passed 200,000. It's another bit of a milestone for me. I never honestly figured I'd get that many hits on this blog that I started to save my TV screen from certain destruction...
Thanks to everyone, from both sides of the aisle who have stopped by and left comments or just read an entry or three...I appreciate all the links, the comments, the emails. Doing this makes my day, literally.
Now, on to the next milestone: Electing John Kerry!
Thanks again...
Jo

Some in Iraq Question How and Why War Is Being Waged
By Steve Fainaru
Washington Post Staff Writer
Sunday, October 10, 2004; Page A01
ISKANDARIYAH, Iraq -- Scrawled on the helmet of Lance Cpl. Carlos Perez are the letters FDNY. After the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on New York, the Pentagon and western Pennsylvania, Perez quit school, left his job as a firefighter in Long Island, N.Y., and joined the U.S. Marine Corps.
"To be honest, I just wanted to take revenge," said Perez, 20.
Now, two months into a seven-month combat tour in Iraq, Perez said he sees little connection between the events of Sept. 11 and the war he is fighting. Instead, he said, he is increasingly disillusioned by a conflict whose origins remain unclear and frustrated by the timidity of U.S. forces against a mostly faceless enemy.
Thank you. Your site, Democratic Veteran, is my first stop on my daily tour of the blogosphere and it always makes my day. Keep up the good work!
Now, get back to typing more great posts and I'll get back to working for Senator John Kerry to be our next President.

I have to come here 2 or 3 times a day. It's nice to know that all of us vets aren't Repubs.

Congrats Jo! This site give us gravitas when we argue with people on Kerry's worth.
Nobody can question the endorsements he's recieved. Cleland, Clark, Jo Fish. With names like that supporting him, he's a sure fire winner!
Thanks!

Indeed, Congrats Jo. Damm right, the dickheads on the other side don't have lock on Veterans. They never did.

Congrats, Jo! I know that I stop here frequently and I have turned many friends on to your site, especially former military buds. They need to know there are other vets out there who think like they do. Keep up the good work.
