If memory serves....

I remember getting lots of lectures in some of the schools they sent all us baby Naval Aviators to ... and in many of those classes, we chatted with guys who were ex-POW's from Vietnam. I remember being mightily impressed (then and now) by a guy named Douglas Hegdahl, perhaps the youngest American POW held in North Vietnam. I remember that all these guys seemed ten feet tall, because of the ordeals that they had been through. They talked of the things that happened to them, they talked about Jane Fonda and efforts to propagandize their captive status. They talked about the torture, deprivation, food that you wouldn't think about eating, keeping the faith with themselves and their shipmates, and their God. They talked about a lot of things.

I don't remember any single one of them mentioning John Kerry.

Ever.

And there are a couple of them in that slimefest mock-u-mentary.

How the mighty have fallen. And for a deserting, lying, cowardly fratboy no less.

And no, as far as I know, Hegdahl is not associated with the movie.

Interesting. Now that you mention it I was in a Corps-level G3 shop from 1970 to 1973. We were all Vietnam veterans and most of us were Infantry. I also don't remember anyone ever mentioning John Kerry in any context. He simply wasn't on anyone's radar.

Yeah, the Vietnam POW's were in prominent positions at the Naval Academy and Pensacola over the past 28 years.
They include Vice Admiral William Lawrence, James Stockdale, and Paul Galanti who as a Lieutenant junior grade was the youngest POW. Many of these guys still appear in Pensacola because Naval Aerospace Medicine is still tasked with collecting data on these repatriated men.
And to your point, none of these men ever mentioned John Kerry during the past 24 years in their public and private speeches to midshipmen and naval aviators, except perhaps during this campaign.

Well, fwiw:

I've dug up the DIRECT lines of the key people in the Sinclair company. You can call the top Sinclair executives and ask them anything you want at the following numbers:

410-568-1506-David Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer
410-568-1505-Fred Smith, Vice President
410-568-1508-Duncan Smith, Vice President and Secretary
410-568-1504-Mark Hyman/Cam Smart, Vice President for Corporate Relations/Adm. Asst.
410-568-1507-Rob Smith, Director
410-568-1509-Helen Smith
410-752-2468-Steve Thomas, Outside Counsel, Thomas & Libowitz

I'd appreciate it if you spread these names and numbers to as many people as possible - don't be insulting, but as vets comment about how you view their action.

I went to high school and was good friends with POW Col. Tom McNish's son.

We all respected him immensely even though he was a very reserved man. Two words never spoken in their house though were Jane Fonda.

When I saw him in one of the clips for Stolen Valor and then on O'Reilly it was a big shock to the system.

I'd really like to talk with him now though to see what is really driving this.

Seen information today, that Stolen Honor was at least partially funded by the NRA.

Boy, I can't wait to see the RICO laws apply in this instance. Never been or will be a member of the NRA and I have ALWAYS owned weapons. Before I played in helos, I was an 0311 in the Corps.

Just for clarification.

So what's going on here about the Swiftboat guys!!? I have always had respect and admiration for Navy people, granted, some of them come a little unhinged later in life not to mention any names(961). Here you are dissin a lot/hundreds of serious Navy types just because of what?.. Some/much/most of what they say makes sense to me. I took the time to read the bio on Kerry all the way through, trying to figure out the disagreements. Maybe you should do the same!
