I mentioned to a Republican before the election that at Bush's campaign rallies, screened attendees were required to pledge allegiance to Bush, while no such pledge (or anything approaching it) occurred at any Kerry campaign rally. He gasped that that just couldn't be true. I drove home the point. And yet, I bet he still voted for Bush.
