...and the b.s. never ends

The Duchess of Denial: well we just had to go to WAR! (stamping her little feet while massaging her butt...) because WMDs!, Saddam was vewy, vewy Baaad, WMDs!, imminent mushroom clouds over Manhattan, Flypaper!!, The Oil-for-Food Program! by the Hairy Thunderer that's it! Saddam was cheating on the UN Oil-for-Food Program and had to be invaded!!!

Given how much we know now about the deep corruption of the U.N. oil-for-food program, I'm even more relieved they are not the instrument for keeping Saddam contained. They were and would be the instrument for empowering Saddam and further impoverishing the Iraqi people. Bush was right to do what he did. And no amount of criticism of the conduct of the war will take that away.
So remember kids, in SullyWorld it's Okey-Dokey to torture Iraqi's, destroy their homes, kill their kids, terrorize and humiliate their women, and commit general atrocities in the name of Beloved Leaders Modified American Freedom plan, because Fabulous Leader put a stop to cheating on the Oil-for-Food program.

Ooooh, now I understand. Moron.

Comments:

Several repuke friendly folkks were involved in that scandal, maybe the Duchess of twitdom can send a shame on you note to :Texas oil baron Oscar Wyatt, Detroit businessman Shakir al-Khafaji and Virginia businessman Samir Vincent.
Five U.S. corporations were also among the beneficiaries of the so-called oil vouchers that Saddam gave to top political figures and important companies to win diplomatic or military favors. They include major companies such as Chevron, Texaco and Exxon Mobil, as well as smaller companies such as Houston-based Bay Oil USA.

Wyatt, who received more money than any other individual, announced in March 1997 that he would retire and begin lobbying in Washington to lift sanctions against Iraq and Libya.
Wyatt received six vouchers made out to him between 1999 and 2003 for 29.7 million barrels of oil that netted him a profit of $12.6 million, according to the records in Duelfer's report. His company, Coastal, was given vouchers for 42 million barrels of oil with a profit of $10.1 million between 1996 and 2000, the Duelfer's report said.
Khafaji was awarded three more vouchers for 5 million barrels of oil between 2001 and 2003, but he never collected on them, the records show. Khafaji didn't return calls for comment, though in the past he has said he didn't support Saddam. Khafaji, who resigned from the Iraq Reconstruction and Development Council on July 9, advised the Bush administration throughout 2002 and much of 2003.

Has anyone pointed out that this whole thing is based on documents from Chalabi? There just seems to be just a slight whiff of bullshit when I hear the phony outrage over this "scandal". But never a word over the lies from Dear Leader and his syncophants.

And while on the subject of verbose idiots, am I the only one who can't stand Scarborough? It's not just the bullshit he spews out, but his head pisses me off for some reason.

I love how this band of facisti just keep changing their rationale for the over and over and over again, throwing something & anything against the wall and desperately hoping it'll stick. First it was weapons of mass destruction that never existed... then it was because Saddam was a bad person... now it's oil-for-food.

I don't know which is sadder: that these jokers continue to pull this shell game stunt, or that the numb-minded right wing sheep in the red states keep falling for it every time and let the criminals get away with it.
