There are times when the Duchess reminds me of Jeff Spicoli ("Fast Times at Ridgemont High"), I guess it's the dope. Both at the keyboard and in the baggie on the desk. Check it out:
I think the anti-war left's failure to believe in democracy is a greater failing than the pro-war right's failure to grapple with some of the serious failings of the endeavor. But I hope today that everyone, whatever their view of the war or occupation, can rejoice in the defeat of evil and terror. It's truly inspiring.
Translation: Pay no attention to all those dead Soldiers and Iraqis...
Remember - Evil! Terror! and the reason that shall not be mentioned...
If voting is democracy, then what happened in 2000 in Florida? Do we get Iraqi election monitors and "security forces" in 2006 and 2008? After all, we too suffer from evil and terror...the resemblence of Abu Gonzales to the "good" Sta-Puft marshmallow man is purely coincidental...remember Ghostbusters?

When are troops being sent to Ohio? Over and over - money, democracy, whatever - hey, how about rights? - I keep wondering "what about the US George? WTF? A quarter trillion to show what a tough guy you are.
I wonder if any reporter will actually ever ask him about whether elections in the US should be free and fair.

As much of a cluster fuck as the invasion of Iraq is, I have to say I get a little surge of pride when I see Iraqi's voting. I mean, they'll have a civil war or a theocracy within a year, but it's still pretty inspiring.

I heard on the Randy Rhodes show that Gonzales was in the service and taught torture servival techniques to our soldiers. Is this true and can you find the details of his military service.

Since Iraq is the defacto 51st state of the United States, georgie bought it and we'll be paying for it for years; they better damn well vote and apprciate the hell out of it..because it wasn't paid for with the blood of chickenhawks, it was and will continue to be paid for in the blood of innocent Iraqis and american/british troops. welcome to the twilight zone that will last the next fifty years.
Call me skeptical. The politicians are too afraid to actually identify themselves. There has been roughly ZERO campaigning for fear of insurgent reprisals. Bombings, shootings, and beheadings are daily if not hourly events. Yet 72% of the population was braver than the politicians. 72% of the population was excited enough about politicians whose names and issue positions they did not know to brave execution to vote for them.
Does this not sound just a wee bit iffy to anybody but me?
In your opinion, is there ever a time when the cause is worth fighting and dying and killing for? Maybe to defeat Hitler or even slavery. Also, if there were really any election fraud in Florida in 2000, don't you think that the Clinton era Civil Rights Commision, and all major media organizations who looked into these bogus claims would have found something
The 72% that the lapdogs like to bring up is a joke. It's based on a rough count of how many Iraqis are BELIEVED to have shown, not the actual number. Throw in the accounts of Iraqis being coerced into voting with the threat of food being witheld, the bases being built, the continuing violence, and this is an improvement?
And by the way, where are those WMDs?
