The Perfect Spot

Man, it's a stone cold shame that irony died in December of 2000 with Bush v. Gore. Because just think...Bonzo went to Bitburg and Beloved Leader could go to Berchtesgaden. What symmetry.

When Adolf Hitler first encountered the breathtaking mountain scenery and lofty isolation of Obersalzberg in the Bavarian Alps, he fell instantly in love with the spot.

Later as German leader he sealed off the hamlet, creating an exclusive retreat where he and other top Nazis could wine and dine, savor the crisp Alpine air, and plan the most barbarous acts of the Third Reich.

Just have Karl Rove and Crashcart in brown uniforms and tall black leather boots strutting around the grounds, and history would indeed have come sort-of full circle. Bubble boy would only need a sand table of Iraq, a Concentration Camp or three, and his grampaw "Fake-Medals" Prescott will be smiling up from Hell at him, his dreams accomplished.

Funny thing is, I believe in reincarnation, especially after that 4-year-old kid 21 years ago said with an astonished sound to his voice, "OH, I remember you, you were at my funeral." But I hadn't been at any funeral in the previous 4 years. My uncle's funeral was 5 years earlier...ooooh, I had just met the reincarnated soul of my uncle.

Anyway, GW Bush (and his youthful hobby of blowing up frogs with firecrackers), Karl Rove, Albert Gonzales, etc. etc. have all the earmarks of having been staunch Nazis in their previous incarnation. This is why so many of their "neo-con" policies seem so familiar.

From launching preemptive attacks (like Hitler did), to authorizing torture (like Hitler did), to creating secret interrogation facilities (like Hitler did), to attempting to crush any dissent (like Hitler did), to a news media used as a propaganda mouthpiece (like Hitler did), to fraudulent elections and strong-arm tactics (like Hitler did), to pumping money into a war machine while letting social programs rot (like Hitler did), and the list goes on and on and on.

It's as if, in failing to accomplish what they attempted 60 years ago, they are determined to accomplish today...the defeat of America, the destruction of America, the subjugation of America. And, of course, they have the same world domination goal as the Third Reich.

In other words, either the same devious and evil mindset keeps cropping up time and again, or certain evil and devious souls keep incarnating into the world and unleashing hell on everyone else. Whichever it is, the Dark Presidency of Herr Bush will be judged an abomination, and hopefully just a short-term aberration, in American History. However, the one's behind this subversion of our Democracy have been quietly making thier plans for decades, which may mean it will take the same amount of time to root out their evil machinations from all of our democratic institutions. Hopefully, in the present, we can at least thwart some of their more blatantly evil schemes. We'll see.

Too depressingly familiar, takes me back to all the evil we were schooled on as children. Does anyone besides me think it possible the W is a little brain damaged?
Does anyone besides me think that this administratin is the one that will bring down america?
What irony, all the wars fought and averted, all the cynical tyrannical leaders we have seen in our lives, to think that we shall be brought down by one of our own.
