I guess Karl must've stuck his hand up Beloved Leader's ass and wiggled it around a bit...
Today millions of Americans are saddened by the death of Terri Schiavo. Laura and I extend our condolences to Terri Schiavo's families. I appreciate the example of grace and dignity they have displayed at a difficult time.
I urge all those who honor Terri Schiavo to continue to work to build a culture of life where all Americans are welcomed and value and protected, especially those who live at the mercy of others. The essence of civilization is that the strong have a duty to protect the weak. In cases where there are serious doubts and questions, the presumption should be in the favor of life.
Yeah, with the exception of the 150 or so put to death on the Texecution Machine, or the 1500+ soldiers sent to their deaths for a lie. Or the malnourished Iraqi children. The list goes on and on as the christo-fascists keep getting more and more of their pound of flesh...
Presumption of Life. Right. Presumption of Staying in Power to carve up America for his criminal friends and corporate sponsors, with the help of the American Christo-Fascist movement...

So close to Easter, and yet the press can't make a peep about the hypocrisy.
The whole tightrope walk between "profit-driven" decisions and "value-driven" decisions is precisely that - "The strong should protect the weak" falls apart when it is financially unfeasable to do so according to this administration - hence the BLINDING hypocrisy of that statement. This administration will continue to keep the profit-driven decisions valuable for those people making the smartest decisions. That is their first priority. Anything else is pork.

Oh yes, must comment on Schiavo. Can't comment for 4 days on the slaying at the Indian reservation. Can't attend funerals for dead soldiers.
What a useless, poll-driven, motherfucking piece of shit.
This behavior, boys and girls, is a textbook example of what occurs when (percieved) power, completely overrides the ability to discern rational thought.

As a gay man, with a partner and an adopted son, I can say without a doubt that president Bush has no interest in creating a culture that welcome, values, and protects Americans like me or families line mine. Neither do his followers. Neither does his party.
Jo, you're on fire! These are great posts, keep at it.
I realize I was on the unpopular side re: Schiavo, but you're blazing with both guns. Great stuff.

If the "pro-life" bunch truly believes in life, then they should be speaking out about abolishing the death penalty. If not, then they are not really pro-life,are they?
It appears that they are pro-life as long as they can pick and choose which lives they are for.
