Gee, I feel so sorry for him...NOT!

The GOP in Illinois' Cook County, which I understand is a lot like the Democratic Party in Mississippi, all sound no fury, has offered a $10,000 reward for information leading to provable claims of malfeasance against Chicago mayor, Richard Daley.

The Cook County Republican Party is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an indictment and conviction of Mayor Richard M. Daley, whose administration has been buffeted by scandal.
Under most circumstances I'd be pretty pissed about tactics like that. But we're talking about Richard Daley here...he learned politics at Daddy's knee. And he trashed one of the most honorable and honest senators in Congress, Dick Durbin for telling the truth about GITMO.

So, Richard, Mr. Mayor, Buddy...you're on your own. Cook County? Skeletons? Pope? Catholic?.

I met Richey Daley once at a funeral. (It's a long story, so don't ask.) The one thing I know he's guilty of is having a handshake like a dead fish. Strange for a politician, I remember thinking.

Maybe they can run with that.

Well....yes and no. I mean, here is a guy who deseves gutting in such a manner, no question. He's earned it. (I'm particularly reminded of Euripides' commentary in 'Phrixus': "The gods visit the sins of the fathers upon the children." )

Now, we all know the Fascist Party has MILLIONS to throw away in order to get to their goals, and millions more waiting in the pockets of the ultra-wealthy and ultra-right benefactors of their planned change of America as we knew it. And if they don't want to spend their own money, they know they can always spend OUR money on it. If anyone has forgotten a 7.5 year campaign to destroy W J Clinton, let me remind you: They've burned off well over $90 million of your and my money on this and the taximeter is still running, since the investigation of Henry Cisneros continues.

That's right! In July, 2005, a Fascist Party political operative (David Barrett) is STILL investigating a man who pled guilty to a negotiated misdemeanor charge in 1999, and paid a $10,000 fine.

So - are they looking to buy the Chicago mayoralty the way they bought the WH? Is this just more Fascist Party savagery? Or is this a test case to see if a new strategy works?

That's actually kind of weird, because Repubican and Democratic thiefs are pretty cozy in Illinois. The head of the Republican Party in Illinois is Bob Kjellander, who profited some $800,000 in a Daley boondoggle (and is also a college chum of Rove). There's a rift in Illinois between GOPers who are loyal to Kjellander and those who want to clean up the state and get him out. The reward must be coming from those who want him out, 'cos the Daley sweep threatens to catch a lot of Republicans in its net.

Daley needs a pass on the Durbin deal. His son is in the service and the whime of of his chickenhawk in chief could see him in a hot spot.

Still one would assume he'd make the logical conclusion that Durbin spoke up for the good of soldiers, Forcing him to apologize convinces the world we're all for torture.

He is in a catch 22.

Besides Fitzgerald just got him on a fake drivers license scam.

That's just on the surface.

Still we now know that Fitzgerald(Republican) cannot be painted as partisan against Bush. Still have time to see if he is partisan for Bush, with the trial going past the election last time around.

Dick Daley or Dick Cheney- we know who has the dirtiest dick in that comparison.
