When republicans Lie

I love it when republicans strrrretch the truth in print...it's just wonderful. If you have not been following the Coin-of-the-Realm scandal in Ohio, then you missed the part where the Ohio Supreme Court ordered that about 120 boxes of public records related to the scandal be made available immediately to the Toledo Blade (the paper that's been burning some serious republican ass on this story) so they could start doing what reporters who are worth a shit do, match up facts with assertions and see what shakes out. Well, coincidentally one of the recipients of coin-dealer Tom Noe's largesse happens to be the Ohio Attorney General, who has held up the Supreme Court-ordered production of the materials as he "reviewed" them. Unfortunately for him, the Ohio Supreme Court forgot to mention the review requirement in their order to produce the records.

So Petro wrote a letter to Blade angrily denying that he is hiding anything, or heaven forbid, sanitizing documents because no republican officeholder has ever done that in recent memory.

I am perhaps the strongest proponent of Ohio's Sunshine Law, and strict adherence to all its provisions is of key concern to me and all the law enforcement officers involved in this case.
When a politician, especially a republican makes a statement like that it's Katie-bar-the-door time. Clear Skies. Healthy Forests. Weapons of Mass Destruction. Saddam and 9/11. We can pay for everything with Tax Cuts.

Maybe that's why Hackett came within four percent, people are finally starting to realize that the last thing that republicans do is tell the truth and the farthest thing from their mind is acting on behalf of those who can't kick in big bucks to keep them in a position to do more favors for their friends.
