Ooh Ooh That Smell...

The sun came up this morning to the unmistakable smell of Victory Gin and Flopsweat...what could it be? Why it's Christopher Hitchens hacking away at his computer again, writing under that big '666' on the wall of his tenement somewhere near the corner of Cirrohsis St and Gluttony Ave, in some gated elite community of fellow travellers somewhere. Hitchens writing more than he should, about a subject he'll never understand:

...Then there is the question of civilian control over the military, which is an authority that one could indeed say should be absolute. The military and its relatives have no extra claim on the chief executive's ear. Indeed, it might be said that they have less claim than the rest of us, since they have voluntarily sworn an oath to obey and carry out orders. ...
Ah, Christopher you twit, if you got your head out of your ass long enough to read the papers and not the blast-faxes from Ken Mehlman, you know the ones with all the little hearts scribbled in the margins, you'd understand that the word "voluntary" really only applies to folks who are not there on the "back-door draft" plan, and that the operative part of that expression is "draft". Which if you've been reading the newspapers instead of vomiting on them, you'd know is becoming ever more of a possibility. After all, the number of parents who seem to want to avoid being first on their block having their sons (and daughters) "come home in a box" is growing steadily. There was a recently documented case of a family near Pittsburgh who wanted to avoid their own Cindy Sheehan moment, of getting a folded flag at a grave, by telling the Marine recruiter "Military service isn't for our son. It isn't for our kind of people...".

So hey, here's a great idea Hitch. Sign up. They just raised the age and you don't even have to be a US citizen to enlist. What a good deal. I promise, that if you die over there, I'll come to your funeral and tell everyone: Don't Cry, he wanted to die for no reason.

Now that is one disturbing set of images you have tossed out there. Another image to consider here.

Hitch would never use a gun when he can get a lot more people killed with a word processor. If he did die in Iraq, well it is afterall the "front of the war on terror" or in other words the war to end all terrorism and Islamic extremism. Hold your breath, Hitch and his fratboy Messiah will be ending terrorism any secound now, all of Al Quida will simply drown in the river of wasted blood.

I came here through Memeorandum. You don't have much going on as an argument here.

That stuff about vomiting was strange too.

I smell desperation in their venom against a Gold Star Mother who has the nerve to step up an speak truth to power. Did anyone notice they never address the issues she expouses. Their attacks are so irrational. Where does is say "The Parent of a Volunteer soldier" Has to give up their First amendment rights when their son/daughter Dies in combat?

... then I'll step up and honor your besotted memory by pissing all over your fucking grave (yankee brewsky, Chris!) while I sing the U.S. Marine Corps hymn!

That guy is one belligerent drunk, lying there in the gutter bellowing out that he can take anyone on, with one arm behind his back, standing on one leg..."None shall pass!"

Ahhh, hatred. Name calling... demonization. What else? Well, when you can't win based on facts, you can always hope for...

Ignorance. "Back-Door draft" - nice euphenism for "stop-loss" which everyone knows signing their enlistment documents that you can be in for the duration; but it is disingenuous of you, knowing the word "draft" conjures up images of conscripts as cannon fodder. However, the use of the word "draft" to describe stop-loss is inaccurate. But, hey... it doesn't matter, because no one can read it completely due to the...

Spelling. I see a pilot's badge at the top of your page. I thought they required pilots to speak and write English? I know, it's a personal peeve. But how much weight should I give your point of view if you can't spell?

Steve - well, name-calling, and demonization just playing with the tools granted to me by the National "Moonbat" Association when I last paid my dues :) . They said that they were using them under license from the RNC.

As for spelling, sorry no spellcheck function in my blogging software (or at least I haven't installed any).

As for speakin' Englitch and beein' a aviater, well I done purdy gud in pilot skool, doncha know. Never had no problums with the trainin' and finishd top of my klass. Gubmint done gimme my wingz aftur I finsihd and Im purty proud of myself, cuz for all them years I promized to payback, doncha no I showed up each n ever single day. Shame some folks dont tho, after all thet 'spnesive trainin'. U no who I mean, rite?

Steve just might really be Hitch, trying to sneak in under the radar to cut you down LOW, Jo, you terrible speller! Take that!

What was it George Washington said? "When we became the soldier, we did not lay aside the citizen." I believe that was it.

But don't tell that to Hitchens. Soldiers are merely servants; little plastic men on a battlefield, and it's fun to play war with them. And if some of them get broken, heck, we can always get more at the toy store and Chris's playtime won't have to be interrupted.

Hitchens was part of the Judith Miller-ledeen circle. He may even be an 'independent verify' for the Miller and Ledeen stories.
They're araid to let Hitc get too close to the next issue- war with iran and the ILF.

Hitch had enough buddies in the INC-London circles.
