My proposal

Big Time gets a hearing on his torture amendment after he and all his staffers who are pro-torture go as students, to one of the military's schools where some aspects of survival are taught. The whole course, every day, every hour with not a VIP kit, Secret Service agent, grovelling toady or sycophantic staffer in sight.

That of course will never happen, but it might wake them up to the facts that torture is a poor excuse for (forgive the pun) intelligence.

Survival/E&E School at Fairchild AFB, WA. 2 weeks in the woods in a mixed group, officers and enlisted. Eating grubs and roots was the great equalizer.

No, Fixer, that was fun compared to Jungle Survival. Trying to stay out of the way with the negritos chasing you through the Philippine swamps was certainly more interesting than trekking through the Cascade Mountains, or camping at 40 below at Eielson for Arctic Survival, or parasailing in Tampa Bay in the Water Survival.

I don't know where they do Jungle Survival these days, or how they would find a group like the indigenous negritos to chase you, but that was a definite "not again" school.

Think Big Time's macho fascination with torture might change if he was the subject rather than the overseer?

Wonder how many tapes from Abu Ghraib and Gitmo have ended up in the White House just for viewing pleasure?

Cheney's just a moron. He thinks that just because he's a Republican and he wears a suit that he knows something about war.

Apparently in Schwartzkopf's autobiography he talks about all the wacky war plans he got from Cheney's office during Gulf I. Like, Cheney kept urging him to parachute a small group of special forces into the north of Iraq. Schwartzkopf disregarded that plan.

Interesting point I saw on Josh's site (TPM):

Why is DickCheese and Preznit Horse Fluffer still walking around free and easy-like; while Lindy England and all the rest of the enlisted personnel who have been tried and sentenced rotting in Leavenworth?

I wonder if Scotty McDouchebag can answer that one. How hard would it be to obtain a Press Pass after the Jeff Gannon/Guckert incident, especially since I won't be playing the male prostitute?

I have the documents to prove the Marine part.

Absolutely, Barndog. Bush absolutely betrayed those troops, and no one seems to give a damn.
