Unreal

We now have a new standard for truthiness in this country:

n response to the Democrats' complaints, Republicans and the administration's top intelligence officials said the real problem was leaks about N.S.A. eavesdropping and other classified matters.
So, illegal activity is not wrong as long as only the people breaking the law know about it. Wow. How Iran-Contra.

Oh, wait, it's mostly the same people recycled for a do-over because they fucked up that whole Orwellian gubmint-secrecy thing the first time around.

If Monica had never met Linda, there would have been an extra 70 million bucks to waste in Mess O'Potamia or for tax cuts. Damn the republican fucktards have to be kicking themselves over that waste of cash now.

Comments:

Ran across this from Bush's Nashville speech this week and have to share it:

Referring to Senate Majority Leader, Bill Frist, who was in attendance, Bush said, "He's a good man. He's a good guy to deal with, he is doing a fantastic job of herding cats." And somewhere a loud screech of terror went up from the animal shelters all over Nashville.

The sad part is most Americans have never heard of the FISA, or Executive Order 12333. They don't know that most of the laws, EOs, Directives and Regulations that govern what the intelligence community can collect on vis-a-vis US Persons and Foreign Nationals are unclassified. No, they'll just take the word of a known liar as long as they think he keeps them safe.

Keep us safe? With 9/11 and Katrina occuring on HIS WATCH (and he was warned IN ADVANCE of each) he has the dubious honor of the largest civilian body count of any president... ever!

And of course according to the 1600 Crew, anyone who raises the issue of wiretaps is giving away the entire game to Al Qaeda:

"The damage has been very severe to our capabilities to carry out our mission," Goss told the Senate Intelligence Committee. He said a federal grand jury should be empaneled to determine "who is leaking this information."

Gulp. Who is "leaking" this information? I suppose the CIA and other agencies are investigating, listening, tapping lines, etc, but they don't know yet who has "leaked" the info... I wonder if they have been able to find out what Osama has planned--he's right there in everyone's face threatening us all again. So who's making life easier for the terrorists?
