Abu Baba and his Forty Lies (part 1)

Been skimming over the liveblogging and transcripts of Abu Goes to Congress, when this jumped out at me.

GONZ: We were attacked...

LEAHY: Yeah, I know we were attacked, I was here when we were attacked. Now answer my question... did you come to the conclusion that you had the authority to spy on Americans without FISA approval pre-9/11.
...

KENNEDY: We faced a nuclear threat during the cold war ...

Basically, and all my buddies can back me up here, the fucking Bedwetter Americans weren't doing much in the way of any kind of military service then either. Actually, they didn't even think of the cold war at all, except to vote republican every four years. The nuclear threat, which was both very real and very scary was so far below the public conscience that most folks never gave it much thought at all. The Cuban Missile Crisis excepted.

So, whipping the bedwetters, who for the most part send other peoples sons and daughter off to die, into a state of perpetual fear has proven to be a much better strategery for the Leaker Rove.

Comments:

When I went to SAC in '84, our mission was getting the bombers in the air in case of World War 3. They estimated we had 7 minutes to launch 'em all before the base (and Dallas/Ft. Worth) was blown to shit by incoming Russian nukes. We survived.

This has pissed me off since 9/11: my government asking me, no, telling me, to be afraid...

I find it very inconvenient that those of us who actually served in uniform, whether in peace time or war, seem to be pretty much Liberal/Progressive, and all those who didn't, for one reason or another, seem to be pretty much conservative/fascist. Now, some may say this is an oversimplification. I'm sure there are actual, honest to God patriotic Republicans in our country who have served, honorably.

Somewhere.

They keep telling me to be afraid. But I'm not.

My republican friends are, because they don't know how to think for themselves (and none served).

I tell them to commit suicide, and save themselves all the stress of worrying about it so much. I even show, and describe to them, the correct way to slice your forearm ( in an "S" pattern - as opposed to across... that way the arteries cannot be sewn up).

Pisses them right off, but what do I care? Fuck 'em.

Huh!? Where were you in the early '80s when the moonbat pansies were squawking the Ronald Reagan was going to get us all nuked? What about that lame TV miniseries "The Day After"? Turns out Reagan was right and the pansies whiners were wrong.

And, by the way Lurch, I served 7 years as a Marine grunt, and I'm as conservative as they come. In fact, the "liberal/progressive" veteran is the exception, and even then they have to adapt a lot of Republican talking points to be politically viable (cf. the guy in Ohio--sorry, can't remember his name).

Bean -

FYI and if you want to get banned, keep this shit up, shipmate:

Huh!? Where were you in the early '80s when the moonbat pansies were squawking the Ronald Reagan was going to get us all nuked?...

This "moonbat pansie" was out doing multiple 100+ day on-station deployments from 1980-1983, and then from 1984-86 in the Northen Indian Ocean supporting the operations off Iran and outside the Persian Gulf. Is that the "Early 80's" you're talking about? Fuckwit.

What was Reagan right about? The 600-ship Navy? No. You can hardly credit him (as much as the fucktard right wing would like it) with the collapse of the Soviet Union, it was an economically unsustainable system that collapsed under its own weight.

So take your "moonbat pansie" shit, and blow it out your ass. Got it? Good.

Yeah, "your boy" Jelly Bean choker - got 241 of my Brothers killed in Lebanon -without recourse.

Of course, you probally cheered bean. You were just waiting for the opportunity to chug some of Ronnie's cock.

And, I did refute that 'economic collapse' bullshit while a student at Michigan State U. in the early 90's. I also tore up Lady Bird's 51% ties to Bell-Textron, and the purchase of the completely underpowered OH-58 scout helo.

I got yer moonbat pansie right here. Anytime your punk ass wants some. I'm still sayin' you're nuttin but some bitch wannabe.

My father was a 30 year Army man all the way. He was also a Republican. He taught me that a man's duty was to serve at least one hitch in the military to pay America back, to pay your taxes and to vote. He would be appalled at today's Republican Party.
I can just picture him spitting at chicken george. And I know he would be pissed at him for all of the troops photo ops and wearing uniforms he is not entitled to wear.
What the fuck happened to the Republican Party?

Same thing I wonder gus. Bob Beauprez (R), Colorado, wearing flight suits and giving speeches - never served in the military.

I mean, I see punk kids wearing camos with US ARMY or Marines on them - I bitch at them for it. People like us earned the right to wear those with insignia on them. Wear them - unless you earned that title Army, Marine or otherwise... take that shit off the uniform.

I don't believe the true conservatives we used to know exist anymore. They've all steeped too long in the kool-aid.

Their brains are too far gone. Right bean? - bean being a classic example.... claims to be a Marine - but every Marine I know that is republican... has managed to keep his/her integrity and character about them.

bean has shown me neither - in any semblence of the meaning. That tells me his integrity and character is of a questionable nature - hence, most likely he is full of shit.

I stand by my analogy, until proven otherwise.

My dad flew SAC B52's with nukes so yea we were aware of the cold war. I was glad he didn't see the asleep at the switch morning of 9/11. He would've been appalled. And the strutting around in uniform- he disdained vets doing it much less a coke snorting texas flyboy who mysteriously quit flying after april 1973 when drug testing was introduced- pilots are proud to fly they don't let their flight status evaporate.

ronnie raygun was a walking crook. he was responsible for the 241 Marines being killed in Lebanon. Another neat trick he pulled was to state his sorry ass wouldn't negotiate with TERRORISTS. I'm sure we all know what he did. he violated the Constitution and laws of this country. Read the files of the IRAN-CONTRA Affair. The conservanazi republikans proclaim themselves great patriots, when in all actuallity they were chickenhawks. Like today, gwbu$h is a deserter. I generated more paper in my file standing in the chowhall line. What that idiot passed for "military" records is an insult to each and every veteran. I would never serve in the military with a deserter in charge. The conservanazi republikans are destroying our liberty.

Don't look at me. I learned long ago repulikans are the people of the LIE. They screw workers and veterans alike.

Go Fuck Yourself cheney had better things to do. So he got five deferments. POS. The whole friggin' bunch of 'em.
