I BELIEVE THE RESPONSE TO KATRINA WAS POLITICLY MOTIVATED BY KARL ROVE AND THE RNC. THESE RACIST/NEOCONS KNEW THAT IF THEY DELAYED A RESPONSE BY AS LITTLE AS A COUPLE OF DAYS THE WATER FROM LAKE PONTCHARTRAIN WOULD RISE ENOUGH TO FLOOD THE HEAVILY POOR WORKING CLASS DEMOCRATIC PARTS OF THE CITY. THIS WAS NO LESS A ETHNIC/POLITICAL CLEANSING OF THE CITY OF NEW ORLEANS. I WAS LISTENING TO THE TESTIMONY OF M. BROWN AND HE STATED THAT DURING THE 4 HURRICANES THAT HIT FLORIDA IN 04', ALL HE HAD TO DO WAS CALL THE WHITE HOUSE(BY PASSING THE RED TAPE AT DHS) AND WHATEVER HE NEEDED WAS DONE. M. BROWN TESTIFIED THAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS EMERGENCY HE WAS TOLD BY THE WHITE HOUSE THAT NOW HE HAD TO GO THROUGH THE BUREAUCRACY OF DHS TO GET WHAT HE NEEDED FOR NEW ORLEANS. WHICH ENDED UP WORKING LIKE A CHARM, SO WHAT IF SOME POOR PEOPLE DROWNED OR LOSS THEIR LIVELY. WHY THE DOUBLE STANDARD PURE POLITICS. NOW LOUISIANA WILL BE A SOLID RED STATE WITHOUT HAVING TO COUNTER THE LARGELY DEMOCRATIC CITY OF NEW ORLEANS. I still suspect that prime real estate locations that were previously occupied by the poor will end up being upscaled for the wealthy class. All they got to do is let it sit idle long enough to discourage the poor moving back. Notice how they said the US Government would buy them out. When wealthy communities living on barrier islands were hit by past hurricanes they were given the option to move or rebuild, but with the understanding that if they rebuilt they would not recieve futher federal bailouts. See the difference?
