If Crashcart were "**hunting under the influence", wouldn't that tend to explain a bit of what's going on with the apparent cover-up? And why the Secret Service agents would not let the local sherriffs talk to Bwana Dick until 15 hours after he shot Whittington?

This quote has been obligingly scrubbed from the MSNBC article, with I am sure, not a bit of urging from the 1600 Crew.
Reddhead over at FDL had a great quote about this...that someone who shoots another hunter is either drunk, an asshole or a drunken asshole. I'm positing that Bwana Dick falls into the latter classification.
You remember, that the Secret Service was compelled to testify about Bill and Monica. Why couldn't they be compelled to testify about the activities of the VP prior to the accident? Drinking would surely have been an activity that they would have closely monitored, especially when there were firearms involved. Wouldn't you think?

Yup. This is a no brainer. On Air America (I hear, but maybe somewhere else- heard 2d hand) they report that old snarley has a coupla dwis.
I hope the Secret Service personnel regain their professionalism and sense of duty here; they are not a political arm of the republican party assigned to cover up the carelessness of the veeper, or possible criminal negligence (e.g. HUI), or abuse of power by this veeper. I hope a Grand Jury is convened for this caseand that the choice between perjury or truth is a simple one, at least the Secret Service.

cold be medications as he takes a boatload. some probably say do not operate machinery etc..of course he could've and (probably did) mix these with alcohol. also how dark was it and when does legal hunting end. i think it used to be 1/2 hr. before sundown ..at least in oregon

Was it drinking or was it the drugs? Or was he trying to impress his mistress Pamela Willeford by shooting some pen-raised birds that are too weak to fly. Chicks really dig a guy that can bag some pen-raised prey.
This is why guns and alcohol, guns and incompetent morons, and alcohol and incompetent morons should NEVER mix. You put all three together and someone (Dickless and anyone who lied in the course of the investigation) should be going to jail.

Not to forget that Cheney is a cardiac patient and has to be on some powerful meds. He has no business drinking at all. He certainly has a history with alcohol. Whaddya think about former Secy. Webb challenging George Allen in VA, Navy Vet?
