Short note: read somewhere that Condi and her British poodle, Jack Straw flew into Baghdad Airport. Apparently the weather was so bad that they couldn't get a helo airborne to transport them from the airport to the Green Zone. Word is that poor little Condi was a mite uncomfortable on that ride.
Gee, why? Aren't all the media reports wrong and skewed? Surely the road was strewn with rose petals and candy, thrown by cheering crowds of nattily dressed women, happy healthy children and prosperous men-folk on their way to their mosques from their shops and places of offices.
Or, perhaps not.
If Condi was uncomfortable with the formidable security that follows her, I wonder if she appreciates how that PFC feels mounting up for his daily run down a road with or without IED's, religious fanatics of some persuasion and people who just wish he's return to his hometown, and leave theirs for good.
Well, maybe she does for a day or so....

Lets see if I have this right. Preznit says congress can't limit his powers durring war time, says constitution allows him war time powers. Says he can do whatever he needs (wants) to defend the country, including spying on American citizens. Preznit says another President (Carter) can't sign away his powers because they are given by the constitution. Doesn't the constitution say ONLY CONGRESS CAN DECLARE WAR. The constitution does not allow congress to give away that resposibility. Declaring war is a Congressional resposibility. So, since ONLY CONGRESS can declare war, and since they did not, bushie ain't no war time preznit, so spying violates FISA because FISA suspends only after CONGRESS DECLARES WAR. Can any of you stupid republicans out there understand this??

It seems just like yesterday, but two years ago I would be a part of a convoy of two unarmored SUVs with two M9s as our means of protection. Just like Secretary of Defense Rumsfield says, "you got to go with the army that brought ya".
In her defense, it is a bit more dangerous now than back then, but it is not like she is riding in an unarmored vehicle with two pistols to protect her either.
