A man suspected in the slaying of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey was arrested Wednesday in Thailand in a surprise breakthrough in one of the nation's most lurid murder cases - a decade-old crime some feared would never be solved.
Well, we know where the media will be spending their resources now. They get to have analysts, jury consultants, prosecutors, defense attorneys, talking heads ad nauseum all discussing the ins and outs of the Ramsey case for (potentially) months to come. Damn, Nancy Grace is probably can't stand up after all the orgasms she's had from this headline.
Iraq, Foreign Policy and Domestic Affairs? Not so much.

We have only to blame ourselves. The media is selling a product and we readily buy it. We'd like to think that the they are wrong, that they underestimate the American people, but the networks that dumb down their news have been proven to do better (aka Fox News).
People are interested in politics a fair amount though, I think. There are quite a few shows on CNN and MSNBC that focus on govt. Whether they are good or not is another debate...
34% approval rating. Remember at least 34% more people don't approve of Bush but still believe that Saddam had weapons of mass distruction AND planned and executed the 9/11 attacks. Imagine how low his approval ratings would be without the BIG LIE.
Now that this guy has 'fessed up, the news crews won't have time anymore to tell us about all the runaway brides out there. Instead of finding out about more runaway brides we'll just have to know the life stories of everyone who has ever had the slightest conversation with the loser who 'fessed.
