Like everyone else I had heard the stories of Heritage Foundation interns being hired and sent off to Baghdad. But the depth and breadth of this is staggering. Not only were the State Department and other agencies seemingly shut out of the process, the Pentagon was intent on hiring idealogues with ideas better suited to FantasyLand than a war-torn country.
Un-be-fucking-lievable.

Didn't JFK once ask for the "best and the brightest"? And now we have the worst and the dumbest? For them it's Gooper first, second and always, and to them Gooper=money for cronies only. Country? Constitution? Just words to them. Does this preznit really care about "fighting terrorists"? I don't think so. They're not even fanatics or idealogues; I don't think their "NeoCon" view of the world is even political as such, for however fanatical neocon thought is, they supposedly believed that their world view served the commonweal. If NeoCons ever had hopes that somehow their system could make a better world, their movement has now degenerated into nothing more than a miserable, venal, nasty, vile and ruthless cabal of thugs who have more power than they ever dreamt of and their motto is:
"That ain't workin' that's the way you do it, Money for nothin'..." (Dire Straits)
Godamned it, can we put these pricks in prison yet? The unparalleld greed, waste, fraud and yes, death, is squarely on chimmpys shoulders. He should be in prison, a long time ago. This article just cements the idea.

I think the sign outside the Pentagon read something like: Democrats and Other Reality Based People Need Not Apply.
This administration has put yes men on every venue. Loyal fundies who deny reality and do the presidents bidding on every issue, including but not limited to, Iraq, Global Warming, Energy, Homeland Security, SCOTUS, etc etc etc.... simply put, they have never stopped running a politcal campaign, or the gov, based on fundamentalist christian views at the expense of competence. There is nothing new here, they destroy and distort everything they touch.
It's part of the ideology. Bush has done the same thing here; namely, it's all about loyalty to the Bush Doctrine, only the EXPORT version. They've messed up our democratic republic here and are now in the process of sending the same mess elsewhere.
