The Whimpering, or is it Whining?

The republicans in their own trade-marked style of dog-whistle politics were warning the faithful still at the kool-aid containers that Nancy Pelosi would be trouble. For them. Now, her approach to governing which apparently includes oversight and accountability of the Executive is causing more massive whining on a scale not seen before.

Intensifying a war of words over a U.S. troop buildup in Iraq, House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi (news, bio, voting record) accused President George W. Bush on Friday of playing politics with soldiers' lives, a charge the White House called "poisonous."
...
Saying Democrats were waging a "sound-bite war," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino fired back: "Questioning the president's motivations and suggesting that he for some political reason is rushing troops into harm's way is not appropriate, it is not correct and it is unfortunate."
...
"But we will hold the president accountable," she said. "He has to answer for his war. He has dug a hole so deep he can't even see the light on this ... It's a historic blunder."
The only sound-bite politically motivated battle cry is coming from the folks who have cried "wolf" so often that they're being threatened by Blitzer for defamation. Everything that the 1600 Crew does is motivated by political forethought, from the being a "uniter not a divider "crap, to the reliance on "Jay-zus" as some sort of political savior when convenient and required; to savaging the reputations of genuine heros to make themselves seem somehow larger-than-life for their media toadys.

Yes, it's going to be an interesting time to watch the members of the 1600 Crew lawyer-up, even as they decry the lack of civility and bi-partisanship in Washington. But it's instructive to remember that to a man (and woman) every single one of these fuckers subscribed to the notion (until November 8th) that bipartisanship was akin to date rape. Too bad the American people snuck some roofies into the Kool-Aid. Or something.
