For the Working Man...

As we continue to dump money into the "financial services companies" at the speed of heat, it seems that the companies like GM that actually make shit, and add value to our country as well as provide Jobs with a capital "J" in communities around the US are getting screwed. And why might that be? Hmmmmmmm.... could be because they are blue collar and tend to be union. Last I heard there were no unions on the floor of the NYSE.

So as the US Government drives the car makers into bankruptcy (well, helps them on their way, they did some of that to themselves... but that's another story) it continues to fund the AIGs of the universe to give out bonuses and keep their wanton ways going.

How good are the bonuses for the GM workers who have spent, in many cases lifetimes, building and enjoying being part of the middle-class, hardly masters of the Universe stuff, but kings of their own castles?

Most of GM's hourly workers will receive another buyout and early retirement offer. Production workers will be offered $20,000, plus a $25,000 car voucher. Skilled employees will be offered $45,000 plus the vehicle voucher.

The biggest buyout package, for employees with at least 20 years of service, includes $115,000 plus the car voucher.

A car voucher... wow.

Maybe they should have given those Masters of the Universe some of that worthless paper they created to wipe their asses with, it would seem about as fair. Fucksticks.
