So it goes to get

So it goes to get an upgrade. If you happened to see my last 30 mins of unsuccessfully fighting with Permalink code, you'll know how I feel.. like I'm learning to fly again, worse learning to autorotate (not my best "subject" as a neophyte Naval Aviator...(helicopters of course)). Suggestions welcomed.

Okay, just for grinz...I just "upgraded/susbscribed" to BlogSpot-25. Was looking at Moveable Type, but I started here (blogger), so let's see where it goes..bear with me if I screw this up at least once...and to make it more interesting, I'm moving between an an OS X Mac, a Linux box and an XP machine... while I move the site....all I need to do to make this more confusing is to add in a little more complexity, eh?

And speaking of the House

And speaking of the House O'Saud....this piece from today's WaPo OP-Eds certainly puts an interesting twist on money, politics and influence Saudi-style. And I thought it was only in this country that we had people who do not like televangelists and Jerry Falwell in particular....

I feel like I hear

I feel like I hear Joe Pesci's characters in Lethal Weapon III & IV and My Cousin Vinny here you know..the "OK OK OK OK" line.....let's see how long this little story has some legs in the press before the White House Beobachter press clones get to "killing it" for the good of us all and cheap oil. Hmmmmmm. If there are ties to the House O' Saud here, perhaps that's what has made the Bushies so reluctant to press for a 9-11 investigation with anything but lukewarm fervor. Imagine my surprise. And excuse me Mr. (fill in your own Carlyle-er here), what percentage of your revenues of the Carlyle Group come from Saudi Arabia via your ownership of Defense Contracting firms and Foreign Military Sales. Thanks to Buzzflash for this one...been reading about it all day, but it's now gotten a major lead on MSNBC.

Been reading some of the

Been reading some of the latest on the Daschle v. Limbaugh dust-up. I still can not figure out how anal-cyst boy is such an authority on others patriotism and has any moral authority to claim anything other than a big mouth when he can not even face (so to speak), adversarial viewpoints. No wonder he's such a wussy and never managed to get the cysts cut of his ass enroute to the MEPS for induction. Confrontation only works for him when no one is firing back!

Update Check this out concerning the Daschle - Limbaugh at the Howler. Think I'll be adding it to my Blogroll...

If what Tom Daschle is asking is to elevate the tone of the discourse to something that is more than demagoguery (Limbaugh), then why will Rush and the dittoheads not allow that? Daschle served honorably in the USAF, Limbaugh did nothing other than become a fat blowhard "entertainer". What would Limbaugh say if someone like the sniper who killed the Doctor in NY took a shot a Daschle or another democrat or republican whose views differed from their (Limbaugh/dittoheads) views? Would he condemn them or evade responsibility? Given his obvious lack of feeling a sense of responsibility to serve in a time of [undeclared?] War, I have to go with the latter since the past will provide a clear indication of future behaviour in the case of people like him.

I guess to answer my own question, they'll never allow it because then everyone might see the Emperors new clothes. And that might disappoint them. Alot.

Spoke to soon, on the

Spoke to soon, on the 18th. I had thought that the Senate might show more cojones than they did, and trash the Judge Shedd nomination. But no, they rolled over in the name of "Collegiality". Now let's see how collegial the rEPUgs are about allowing some of the Dems ideas/suggestions to come to the floor are in the 108th Congress.

And in the Overreaching on the Environment Department...it's now time to buy that gas mask. No not because their is a new terror-of-the-day-color from Tom Ridge and the Homeland Insecurity Department, but because Dumbya has decided to begin scrapping one of the best pieces of Law to come from the Nixon Administration (one of the crown jewels of Nixon actually). The Clean Air Act. Soon we'll all need respirators to breath and we can be safe in all weather and terror conditions. Perhaps GeeDubya is a "man foresighted", and we really knew it not. Nah, he traded Sammy Sosa.

On another interesting note, as

On another interesting note, as much as I truly believe that most of the Whore Media can never seem to get quite enough pummeling in on my fellow Dems, Dianne Sawyer was at her very, very worst this morning on GMA. She was interviewing the guy who just published the book on JFK and his medical problems, and like a hungry whore pirahana was going after this guy to "tell more" about the meds etc...that JFK was on. Now Dianne, he's been dead for what like forty freakin years and you still wanna trash him? Un-be-liev-able. Here's the President who faced down the freakin' Soviet Union and showed the entire world that he had balls the size of the Moons of Mars, and you are taking him to task for, what, having a disease that was being treated? Have you no shame, woman? To use a BartCop-ism...for Koresh sake, GET OVER IT!

No more GMA for me...it's the National Weather Service Radio and Buffy the Vampire Slayer for me in the mornings before I leave for my j-o-b.

And speaking of Fertilizer...it's too

And speaking of Fertilizer...it's too bad that the Senate did not give Ashcroft the same treatment that they gave Strom Thurmonds guy for the court. I think that there should be some limits on that collegiality crap when it comes to handing out lifetime jobs. Especially for someone like a staffer who wants to be Federal Judge.

Well, as I said it's

Well, as I said it's not a matter of if the New Facist Order in Power will be implementing their changes for the worse...but how quickly they can begin to censor the debate. I heard on NPR tonight Reichmarschall Ashcroft braying about his immediate use of the victory today over the restrictions that the FISA court had placed on the DOJ (or should that be the Do - InJustice?). Even more depressing is what that convicted conehead Poindexter wants to do with for the Pentagon...the two Johns, Poindexter and Ashcroft..remaking Fascism in their own image.

Even if you are a slightly to the right of Attilla the Hun, Poindexters little program ought to scare the shit outta you...think about it...you go to the grocery store, buy powderd laundry soap, the gas station and buy gas and the garden store and buy fertilizer and you have probably been tagged as a terrorist for doing the laundry, getting to work and planting vegetables. And when they come haul you off to the brig, no one will help you 'cause we've already had that precedent set by Herr Reichsmarschall Ashcroft, all the courts will maintain that eerie "silence" our pickleheaded Chief Justice spoke of during "wartime".

And speaking of war...Osama --> still apparently very much alive and kicking. Amazing how that waited til after the election, isn't it? Osama 1, Bush 0. Ya think?

Ann Salisbury at Two Tears

Ann Salisbury at Two Tears in a Bucket has it right...

Okay, now after reading and

Okay, now after reading and reading and reading ad nauseam in the Blogosphere, I have decided that there is not much to be done about Black Tuesday except to forge on. As members of the loyal opposition it will be our place to disallow the "triangulation" of Compassionate Conservatism (I'm still a little unclear about what that is). My biggest fear, is that the Dems in the Senate do not take any principled stands against any Judicial Nominations that might push us towards National Socialism West...something that seems to be happening more and more with the Dim Son Administration. How long will it be before a right-wing Fascist Judiciary, with no checks and balances imposed on it other than end-of-their-natural-life-tenure moves to legalize Nacht und Nebel in Amerika? Shit, it's already halfway built into that abomination the Patriot Act, and our boy John "Himmler" Ashcroft, won't even meet the minimum reporting requirements to Congress that the Act provides for by statute.

All other things being equal, I have a hard time believing that the DS Administration will be able to overreach too far in any one area, except this if they are watched. To stop this group of thugs at 1600 Pennsylvannia Ave from going too far, it will be up to the remaining sitting Democratic Senators to keep the faith and the benches of our courts Right Trash free zones...

It seems that some of

It seems that some of the folks out there from my old home, (the NAV) are not quite the mindless automatons that everyone seems to believe...this article about a recent speech by James Webb (former SECNAV) about the situation in the middle-east and Iraq specifically, seems to bring home the idea that there is some independant thinking out there. Expect no attribution, since some of the Active Duty folks could be prosecuted under Article 88 (bad mouthing Dim Son in public), but at least they're thinking. I think Webb wanted to Kick Saddam's ass over the Stark too, but I might be wrong....

On a seperate note, was I the only one who wanted to HURL seeing a picture of Dim Son at the Vietnam Memorial? There should be a sign there: "OFF LIMITS to Chicken Hawk Draft Dodgers". It made me physically sick to see it, knowing that Bush Pere et Fils, Inc. could give a shit about any veteran, and is working to screw current and future vets of a conflict not too long into the future...

Yeah, no kidding. Here's a

Yeah, no kidding. Here's a link to BuzzFlash a "Blog-Ed" that's worth reading. Of all the races that annoy the daylights out of me, the Georgia Senate Race had to be the worst. Does Saxby Chambliss have kids? Are they enlisting at the same time he becomes a Senator? I think he should be in that first stick out of the 141 into Bagdad along with ol' Richard Perle...Politics is about winning and losing, I understand that. Being as much of a shit-bird as Chambliss, and having none stick to you takes talent and money, courtesy of Ralph Reed & Co.
